In an effort to up his skills (and likely promote the Sony’s upcoming event), Mad Catz’ Daigo Umehara recently put on pair of live Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- broadcasts to document their training before Toshin-Gekitotsu later this month. Seeing as their opponents will be a group comprised of Guilty Gear masters like Ogawa, FAB, and Nage, one could say they definitely have their work cut out for them.

With Daigo’s absence from Guilty Gear competition over the past few years, this is the perfect opportunity to see how the Street Fighter god is taking to the series’ latest installment. Over the course of the lengthy videos below, he jumps online to face random opponents, tries out additional character trials, and spars with Toshin-Gekitotsu teammate Machaboo.

Toshin-Gekitotsu is scheduled for August 22. Further details can be found in our original report.

As previously reported, Dengeki Bunko FIGHTING CLIMAX will soon be coming to PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita in North America. To help get the fans excited for the game, Sega has released the first in a series of trailers going over the characters.

This inaugural teaser features Asuna, sub-leader of the Knights of the Blood guild from Sword Art Online; Kuroyukihime, the student council vice president from Accel World; Shizuo Heiwajima, the invincible bartender turned debt collector from Durarara!; and Tomoka Minato, the baseball ace from Ryo-Kyu-Bu!.

Back when Street Fighter V has its ill-fated first beta test, we did a feature on combo videos from players who were actually able to get in. Now, one of those players, Australia’s BurnoutFighter, has put together another combo video based on the same session.

The video below is based on combos and footage that didn’t make it into BurnoutFighter’s first Nash combo video. As such, these don’t feature the same maximum damage combos seen in other videos. That said, they do still show some interesting and practical applications for some of Nash’s tools, including his Sonic Move V-Trigger. As a bonus, the video also contains footage of some of these combos being done in real matches online.

After six months in arcades, Yatagarasu Attack on Cataclysm will be getting its first official tournament in Japan this Saturday. Kobun no Ran will feature 32 players from around Japan who fought their way through the qualifiers to make it to the main event. 28 of those players are already decided, with the remaining 4 to be determined by the day-of qualifier.

If you want to watch some high-level Yatagarasu action, Kagecchi will be streaming the event live from Tokyo Leisure Land in Akihabara on Twitch. Action starts with the final qualifier at 1 PM JST (12 AM EDT, 9 PM PDT, 4 AM GMT), with the finals tournament starting approximately one hour later. Check it out and enjoy the show!

VSFighting 5 will feature competitions in Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN-, Mortal Kombat X, Super Smash Bros. for Wii U Tekken Tag Tournament 2 and Ultra Street Fighter IV. In addition, Super Street Fighter II Turbo and Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 will be at the event as side tournaments.

FlashVision of Malaysia will be hosting the FV Cup 2015 this Saturday. Taking place at the KDU Glenmarie campus in Kuala Lumpur, this Ultra Street Fighter IV event is a part of the Capcom Pro Tour as a ranking tournament, offering ranking points for the top 16 placers.

A number of strong players from Asia and beyond will be attending, including Itabashi Zangief, KOK, YBK|Shiro, Bonchan, Gonzalez and YBK|Kim1234 of Japan; Leslie and RZR|Gackt of Singapore; DouyuTV|Dark Jiewa of China; CCG|Humanbomb of Hong Kong; G.Y.R.O of South Korea (currently living in Japan); Sketch of the United States (currently living in Japan); GL|Saunic of France (currently living in Hong Kong); and FV|Bison Wong and Chuan of Malaysia.

Although Rash has only been available in Killer Instinct for a few days, fans have already jumped online to show what they’ve discovered for this guest character. He’s incomplete, sure, but that hasn’t stopped players from pushing out some incredible combos for the craziest Battletoad.

First off, Hurtbox TV put out two separate videos that top out at 44 and 54 hits, respectively. Both make ample use of his ram horn special to link normals and his off-screen hoverbike as a way to squeeze out just a bit more damage.

But if style is more your…um, style, DreamKing has provided us with a hard-hitting “swag” combo that tops out at 70% damage. Not too shabby.

Continuing on, we have a much longer video courtesy of Perfect Sam. Give it a watch if you’re a fan of crispy execution, as Sam’s Rash has that in spades.

And finally, Hi Im Keith put together a nice collection of juggle combos. While not as damaging as the previous videos, it does showcase some of the more basic strings Rash is capable of for folks looking to build a nice foundation.

With the weekend rapidly approaching, we thought it would be fun to take a break from super important competitive stuff and share Artsy Omni’s latest Smashified video. If you’re new here, this series sees the infamous “Rayman leak” artist take characters from various video games and hypothesize what they would look like if dropped into the Smash universe.

This time around, Omni takes a look at Bomberman, the eponymous hero of Hudson’s most popular franchise. While their base design centers around his updated outfit from Bomberman Generations, the Smashified crew adds some of their own flair to this art project for a more unique look.
