Along with the release of Predator as a playable character, Mortal Kombat X recently received its very first classic fatality pack. These finishers mimic those from the very first game, allowing Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Sonya Blade, and Johnny Cage to pay homage to their debut.

While fans are used to receiving bonuses for pre-ordering games these days, Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden will include a pretty special extra in the form of an entirely separate game should you grab the game on Amazon.
Originally released on Super Famicom in 1993, Dragon Ball Z: Super Butoden 2 is a precursor to the upcoming Nintendo 3DS title. Although it arrived in France and Spain a year later, this marks the title’s first official appearance in North America, though the original Japanese will be kept intact.
Pre-purchasing Extrem Butoden through the online retailer will also give players early access to six additional support characters: Kid Goku, Super Garlic Jr., Super Vegito, Meta-Cooler, Baby Goku, and Baby Gohan.
Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden is scheduled to launch in North America on October 20.

Vergil is one character that seems to have all sorts of ways to open people up in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3. But for those who still think that he needs more, Flying High’s latest video is just the thing for you.
In the video below, Flying High teams up with CorkyJay to demonstrate some advanced incoming mixups and guard breaks for the other son of Sparda. A lot of the setups here are timing dependent, so you’ll want to practice your execution to avoid being punished. Additionally, getting the spacing wrong can also result in Vergil getting hit by a counter X-Factor activation into air throw.

The folks over at VGBootCamp recently went live with another installment of Smash @ Xanadu from Xanadu Games in Baltimore, Maryland. These weekly broadcasts provide a great look at the region’s Smash community, and tonight’s installment will feature competition in Super Smash Bros. Melee.

For Tekken fans in the United States, waiting for Tekken 7 to finally come to the west can be quite the task, especially when you their counterparts in Japan can already play the game in arcades.
If you’re one of these fans, then here’s some good news for you. Bandai Namco games will be holding arcade location tests for Tekken 7 at select Dave and Buster’s as well as the Round 1 locations we’ve already reported on.

The exact dates for the location test have yet to be revealed, but they are still planned for this month.
With Jason Voorhees turning few heads and Tanya dominating competition before a recent patch, Mortal Kombat X’s post-launch characters have occupied opposite sides of the power spectrum, leading many in the community to eye Predator suspiciously upon its release yesterday. Would the alien hunter fit into the current cast nicely or completely trounce any idea of balance the game has?
Obviously, it’s a little hard to come to a solid conclusion due to the brevity of the character’s lifespan, but some new corner setups may provide insight into how strong Predator will be when it makes an appearance in competitive play.
We were recently sent a pretty interesting video from j8slim purporting to demonstrate an unblockable setup for Predator’s Hunter variation. By juggling with an enhanced disc, the player is given enough time to drop down a trap and follow it with an overhead (here, a neutral jump punch) and make it so the opponent has no choice but to eat damage.
While enlightening, the above video is far from informative. Luckily, Bill “Tom Brady” Menoutis also stumbled upon this strategy, but with a slightly different setup. His explanation does a great job of detailing why this works and the various options that are shut down.
Some are already calling for a Predator nerf, which NetherRealm Studios is likely to answer if their past patching schedule is anything to go by, but it should be cool to see where this strategy takes the character before its possible removal.
As fighting game tournaments continue to grow, so too do the broadcasts set up to share competition with folks across the world. It would only make sense then that the largest of these events has the most expansive streaming crew, and the Evolution Championship Series is ready to raise the bar yet again later this month.
Evo 2015 will feature a grand total of eight streams, produced entirely by the wonderful folks at Team Spooky and IPLAYWINNER. To make sure they all go off without too many hitches, they’ve pulled together an all-star team comprised of Khaos Gaming’s Slash5150, Mando of IE Battlegrounds, Smash masterminds VGBootCamp, PandaxGaming, Callisto, and Spenser Cheung of Showdown.gg.

Another day means another Street Fighter V rumor, but this time around the details aren’t coming from some random online personality or personal blog. Earlier this morning, Siliconera reported that Alex and Urien, both known for debuting in the Street Fighter III series, will be playable in Street Fighter V.
Of course, it’s important to take this all with a grain of salt. Both characters have been rumored to appear in the upcoming title for quite some time, with some folks even going as far as to fake in-game screenshots of Alex (pictured above).
At this point in time, Shoryuken has not been able to independently verify the details provided by Siliconera’s sources, but we’ll be sure to update this article if we receive word either way.
A game like Super Smash Bros. for Wii U is all about movement. Good characters in the game are those that can use their movement best to either get in or space their opponents out.
One character who has an interesting application of movement is Mega Man, who can use a combination of his short hops and his buster shots, or lemons as some fans call them, to effectively control the space in front of him.
In his latest tutorial, which you can watch below, Dezmu demonstrates how to perform this technique, dubbed “short hop lemons,” using both the Wii U Pro Controller and the GameCube controller. Learning this trick can help Mega Man players effectively shut down any opponents trying to get in on him.
