Following up on their initial announcement last month, Arc System Works has revealed a few more details concerning the next installment of national tournament series ARC REVOLUTION CUP.

According to these new details, main titles Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- and BlazBlue: Chronophantasma EXTEND will see competition by three-player teams instead of the usual singles brackets. While last year’s event featured a similar format for BlazBlue, this is the first time in their short history that the entire event has been dedicated to team competition. Both titles will be played on PlayStation 4.

Persona 4 Arena Ultimax (known as Persona 4 The Ultimax Ultra Suplex Hold in Japan) has also been added to the tournament as a side game, with a hint of more to come. It will also adhere to the 3-on-3 format, only on arcade cabinets instead of consoles.

ARC REVOLUTION CUP 2015 is scheduled for August 15 at the Shinagawa Intercity Hall in Tokyo, Japan.

Bandai Namco Games and Arc System Works’ upcoming fighter, Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden, might be heading to the west, according to an entry that was recently spotted on the Australian Classification Board’s website.

While no western release has official been announced, the fact that it has been rated in Australia is a good sign that Bandai Namco intends to release the game in the Western hemisphere.

Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden is the latest entry in the long-running Butoden series, dating back to the original games on the Super Nintendo. This latest title is also Arc System Works’ second Dragon Ball Z fighting game, the first being Dragon Ball Z Supersonic Warriors for the GameBoy Advance.

The game itself features a cast of over 100 fighters spread across playable and assist rosters, and includes versions of characters from the recent Dragon Ball Z: Ressurection ‘F’ movie. A demo of the game is currently available on Nintendo’s eShop in Japan, and its save data unlocks the blue-haired Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan Goku in the main game. (Editor’s note: Believe it or not, that’s not a typo.)

Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden is scheduled to launch in Japan on June 11.

Earlier today, the PlayStation Store was updated, and now includes a landing page for the upcoming release of Skullgirls 2nd Encore. Developed by Lab Zero Games for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita, these ports will feature upgraded visuals, all of the currently available downloadable content, a fully-voiced story mode, and more.

If you happen to be a PlayStation Plus subscriber, you’ll be able to grab the PlayStation 4 version for just $19.99, a full 20% off the original $24.99 price point, and an exclusive theme for your home menu. All purchases of either release will also net you the game on the other platform thanks to their cross-buy relationship.

While the PlayStation Network page currently mentions a July 31 launch date for Skullgirls 2nd Encore, we’ve been informed that’s just a placeholder. It may even arrive before the provisional date, but that hinges on how quickly the title can move through certification. The handheld version will launch sometime after the title releases for home consoles.

The folks over at VG BootCamp recently went live with another installment of Smash @ Xanadu from Xanadu Games in Baltimore, Maryland. These weekly broadcasts provide a great look at the region’s Smash community, with tonight’s stream focusing entirely on Super Smash Bros. for Wii U.

As a neat twist, the event will also allow players to choose custom moves, so check it out to see what these techniques bring to the table. The stream is live below, but you can also head on over to Twitch to join the chat.

Sega recently announced that their fighter based on the popular Shining roleplaying series, Blade Arcus from Shining, is on track to be upgraded in the coming months. Version 2.0 of the game will bring with it some substantial changes.

The title’s ver.2.0 update will bring with it some substantial changes, the most recognizable of which are four new playable characters from Shining Hearts: Urayukihime Hayane, Rouna Murasame, Dylan Rowen, and Rick Elwood. The lattermost was originally supposed to join the cast during the game’s launch early this year.

This patch will also add two new gameplay mechanics–Rejection Card and Reversel Strike–as well as balance the existing cast and tweak movement.

Blade Arcue from Shining’s ver.2.0 update should hit Japanese arcades early this summer. In the meantime, check out this trailer below.
