Love Heart the sky pirate becomes a sky policewoman in this new SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy trailer

Hot on the heels of the Japanese trailer that showed her alongside the game’s other features, SNK and NIS America have now dropped an English-language trailer for Love Heart.

The trailer below gives us some more footage of how Love Heart has been translated into this unique tag-team game. Specifically, we get to see how her moveset now works, as well as some combos that she can now pull off in the game’s systems — including some wall bounce, ground bounce, and tag combos.

Of course, we also get to see more of her costumes — including the mustachioed cowboy.

SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy arrives on PlayStation 4, and Switch on September 6 in Japan, and September 7 in the West.

Alucard leaves Flipside Tactics after three years, is now a free agent

Earlier this month, it was announced that another top fighting game player would be departing their current team and joining free agency. After signing with the organization back in 2015 as their first fighting game player, Antwan “Alucard” Ortiz, has left Flipside Tactics due to contract expiration.

His accomplishments under the F3 banner include: placing 7th at Frosty Faustings VII, 9th at Combo Breaker 2015, 7th at SCR 2015, 3rd at Youmacon 2015, 2nd at Naptown Clutch V, 5th at KIT 2016, and 3rd at Frosty Faustings VIII in Ultra Street Fighter IV; scoring 3rd at Combo Breaker 2015 and Frosty Faustings VIII, 7th at Summer Jam 9 and ESL Dallas, and 2nd at Youmacon 2015 in Mortal Kombat X; finishing 5th at Texas Showdown, Defend The North and East Coast Throwdown 2016 and 4th at The King of New York and Texas Showdown 2017; the pinnacle of his success came with 2nd place finishes at Absolute Battle 2016 and NYU Spring Fighter 2017, with him most recently coming off a 33rd place finish at NCR 2018.

It will be interesting to see which organizations may vie for his services, as he is a proven threat in multiple games. Flipside Tactic’s fighting game roster still includes Allan “LuckyL0ops” Parris (Dead or Alive 5: Last Round), Thomas “Brolynho” Proença (Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition), Daris “DR Gross” Daniels (Injustice 2, Dragon Ball FighterZ), Darnell “Sleep” Waller (Killer Instinct), David-Paul “AutoMattock” Mattock (Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition) and Parker “Ofidyan” Morris (Mortal Kombat XL, Injustice 2).

Original character Lina is the focus of this new Blade Strangers trailer

She’s a green-haired psycho who hungers for battle.

Nicalis has dropped yet another Blade Strangers character trailer; this time, they focus on one of the characters created specifically for the game. The somewhat psychotic Lina is accompanied by her cybernetic partner Devian (no, not the operating system). In practice, the latter acts somewhat like the “wings” of the Murakamo units from the BlazBlue games, allowing Lina to slash and poke at her opponents from long range.

With this, only Master T and Solange — both from Code of Princess EX — have yet to receive individual character trailers. Nicalis is releasing Blade Strangers for PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC sometime this Summer.

Yuyu joins team UYU as a Tekken 7 competitor

A classic Tekken talent returns to the arena!

Long known in Japan’s Tekken scene as a strong player in prior days, Yuyu made a return to the spotlight in Daigo Umehara’s Kemonomichi 2 event, where she battled Tanukana in a down-to-the-wire Tekken 7: Fated Retribution FT10 exhibition match — and a Xiaoyu mirror match, at that! Yuyu emerged victorious — which was good, as reportedly she had stated a loss would mean she would give up Tekken altogether.

Now, after putting her competitive pride on the line at Kemonomichi, she is returning to international competition as part of the UYU esports team!

This might just be the best combination of team prefix and player tag in FGC history. Watch for Yuyu to be a serious threat in the Tekken brackets at this weekend’s Combo Breaker 2018.

After a look back at the origins of Street Fighter itself in their prior retrospective video, Capcom now turns its attention to the groundbreaking sequel/prequel series, Street Fighter Alpha. James Chen returns to walk us through this showcase of what each new Alpha title brought to the franchise — in style, story, and gameplay mechanics.

Of course, we’ll be playing these games again when Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection arrives on May 29th! Now that the Street Fighter II and Alpha series have been shown off in retrospective videos, expect to see Street Fighter III further stretch Street Fighter’s horizons in the near future.

Capcom is hinting at a Cody reveal for Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition — possibly at Combo Breaker this weekend

Looks like Cody is almost ready to break back into Street Fighter.

The time is drawing near for another character reveal for Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition — if Capcom’s social media channels are any indication. As per their usual form, they’ve updated their avatar images on Facebook and Twitter to something that many fans of a certain Metro City brawler have been waiting to see…

Cody is possibly the most-anticipated returning fighter for Season 3 — outside of those that still bend the knee to the King of Muay Thai. While an updated avatar doesn’t promise anything, the timing is ideal to drop a trailer for Cody at this weekend’s Combo Breaker 2018; not only is it a big FGC destination and a fantastic event to begin with, but it is the next Premier event on the Capcom Pro Tour circuit, so keep your eyes peeled for a little something extra after the Street Fighter V top 8 has played out!

This new Fighting EX Layer gameplay video showcases Darun, Allen, and the Mizugami clan fighters

ARIKA has dropped yet another gameplay video for their upcoming Fighting EX Layer. This new video showcases 12 minutes of matches, between a number of the game’s cast.

The video starts with a match between mustachioed Indian grappler Darun Mister and the young Chuck Norris-inspired Allen Snider. After this however, the matches move on to the four characters representing the Mizugami clan (the focus of much of the previous game’s story). First up, Hokuto and Kairi, the original pair of Mizugami, face off against each other. After which Hokuto’s alter ego Shirase takes on her little sister Sanane.

Fighting EX Layer hits PlayStation 4 later this coming June.

New BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle trailer showcases the characters from Under Night In-Birth

These warriors have fought the Void in the Hollow Night.

Arc System Works has shared yet another trailer for BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle. This time, the trailer focuses on those cast members who hail from Ecole Software and French Bread’s groundbreaking fighting series, Under Night In-Birth.

Veterans of this franchise are probably already familiar with Hyde, Linne, Waldstein, Gordeau, Carmine, Orie, and Vatista. However, for anyone who’s planning to pick up BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle without any prior Under Night experience, this video serves as a short introduction to each of these characters.

Additionally, we get to see some of their characters interactions with the characters from other franchises in the game. Check out the trailer below.

BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle is set to launch on PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC on May 31 in Japan, June 5 in North America, and June 22 in Europe.

Razer reveals new Dragon Ball FighterZ editions of the Panthera and Atrox fight sticks

Increase your power level with these Dragon Ball-branded controllers.

The Razer Panthera fight stick has proven very popular as a controller for serious fighting game enthusiasts — amateur and professional alike — and has seen multiple Street Fighter V-themed editions after its initial release. But Razer has taken note of the incredible popularity of Dragon Ball FighterZ, and has revealed that players are now able to show their love for DBFZ even more clearly with a new Dragon Ball FighterZ-themed Panthera!

Featuring DBFZ-themed top panel art, a new case color scheme, and Dragon Ball-styled pushbuttons, this new version of the Panthera sports the same technical build as its predecessors, using Sanwa Denshi parts. Xbox players can rock this dragon too, as Razer has also announced that a new edition of the Atrox is also available to match.

UPDATE: The initial wave may already be sold out, as they are listed as “out of stock” on the Razer store. We’ll keep an eye out for restocks, and on other Razer retailers.
