Apprentice of a famous Italian fortune teller who lives in “Palazzo Mistero.” [In Japanese 神秘の館 Shinpi no yakata, Italian for “Mystery palace.” Implying a rather luxurious residence, as indeed Rose’s mansion is.] She flies around every place of the world to tell mysterious revelations. She has a polite and serious character, but can be a bit hasty. She doesn’t use Soul Power to directly attack, but by way of an object. She attacks her opponent from afar using a crystal ball. Spider-Man: Homecoming pre-orders will include the Superior Spider-Man costume for Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite

Here’s some interesting news for any players who prefer watching their Marvel movies on their consoles. Pre-ordering the digital copy of Spider-Man: Homecoming on either PlayStation 4 or Xbox One will give Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite players free access to the “Superior Spider-Man” alternate costume for character.

For those not familiar with the comics, Superior Spider-Man had the titular hero’s body taken over by the mind of Doctor Octopus, who then tried to prove that he could be a “superior” Spider-Man than Peter Parker. Part of this involved wearing a striking new black and red costume — one which the new costume teased at the end of Spider-Man: Homecoming shares some visual cues with (alongside the red and gold “Iron Spider” costume from Civil War comic event).

Access to the costume (as well as a PlayStation 4 theme and avatar, for those who pre-order it on the console) will be given for free to those who pre-order Spider-Man: Homecoming before October 24. For those not interested in pre-ordering (or who’re purchasing a copy of the movie through other means), the costume will also be available for purchase normally via PSN or Xbox Live for $3.99.

The ban expands: Fight of Gods is now banned in Thailand as well as Malaysia

Following Malaysia’s lead, another nation takes exception to the godly brawling in Fight of Gods.

Fight of Gods Jesus

It appears that Thailand’s media is not amenable to depictions of Buddha getting a beatdown from Jesus, Zeus, or Amaterasu; Fight of Gods will soon be unavailable to purchase from Steam Early Access in Thailand. Rice Digital reached out to the game’s publisher PQube after it was revealed that Malaysia was blocking the Steam Store entirely to prevent sales of the game, and was informed that Thailand was following suit, albeit less aggressively.

“So far, Thailand has formally demanded to us that the game be removed from sale in their territory,” stated PQube public relations. The Early Access game may still be available to pick up in Thailand presently (as it takes a bit of time to process such a removal from the Steam Store) but expect Amaterasu to be put back in her cave — along with all the other tongue-in-cheek versions of popular deities on the Fight of Gods roster — in that region soon.

Resurrection! New leak hints at the identities of the four upcoming Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite DLC characters

The existence of Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite was first revealed via a series of leaks, as such it’s fitting that, just a week from release, we’re still seeing leaks about the game. This latest one revolves around the remaining 4 unnamed DLC characters, who they are, and when they’ll come out.

According to this new leak, the 4 unnamed DLC characters for Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite are Monster Hunter, Gill, Winter Soldier, and Venom. Of these, Gill is the one that’s most interesting, since he hasn’t been mentioned in any previous leaks. Meanwhile, Venom is being counted as a brand new character owing to the fact that this is his first 3D outing, and that all his moves have been redone from scratch — gaining some new attacks, on top of the ones he retains from the older games.

The leak also goes over some of these characters’ playstyles, including that of the two previously announced characters, Sigma and Black Panther. The latter two are supposedly rushdown characters, with Sigma taking a lot from Mega Man X and X2 and Black Panther borrowing from Sabretooth and X-23. Winter Soldier brings damage via his arsenal of guns and weapons. Gill is supposedly retains his “Resurrection” Super Art from Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike — bringing him back to life once if he has 3 bars of meter, at the cost of not being eligible to be revived by the Soul Stone.

These characters will supposedly come out in groups of two, every month, starting this October. Players will have the option of buying them individually at $5.99 a character, or together for $9.99. The first batch with Sigma and Black Panther supposedly releases on October 3rd.

In addition to these, the leak also claims that boss character Ultron Sigma is an unlockable character. He supposedly becomes playable once players have completed story mode on both difficulty settings.

Additional stages are also supposedly in development. One such stage is “Asteroid S: Throne of the Four Gods,” which combined Magneto’s Asteroid M from the comics with the Shadaloo headquarters.

Other items in the leak include the possibility of free DLC — such as new Infinity Surges and Storms — and additional game modes, as well as how character popularity may have influenced the batch of DLC characters for next year.

Get your opponents choking on that poison with combos, okizeme, and tricks for Street Fighter V’s F.A.N.G

A collection of tools to help Shadaloo’s number two fight like he’s number one.

F.A.N.G is Street Fighter V‘s resident low-tier oddity, a character that becomes attractive to play solely out of the challenge of proving your skill with a sort of “handicap” — but F.A.N.G can still be devastating in the right hands. And the thing is: his unusual set of abilities makes him deadly on account of his encounter infrequency alone; not knowing the match-up can lead to a fatal dose of poison for many opponents, giving new prospective F.A.N.G mains an extra edge, albeit a small one!

rooflemonger thought the current up-to-date material available out there for players looking to pick up the poison-slinging assassin was a bit too sparse — so he decided to put together these helpful video guides. Start by learning F.A.N.G’s bread-and-butter combos, and okizeme game!

To add some extra slipperiness to your assassination game, rooflemonger also offers an over-twenty-minute look into F.A.N.G’s blockstring and mix-up potential, discussing the sneaky tricks needed to keep your enemy on edge.

Dissidia Final Fantasy NT will remain a PlayStation 4 exclusive, according to Square Enix

Having a third party game be a console exclusive is a rare thing in this day and age. For the most part, a third party title comes out on at least two of the home consoles or, even if it is exclusive, remains so only for a limited amount of time. This makes Dissidia Final Fantasy NT somewhat unique in that Square Enix has confirmed that it will remain a PlayStation 4 exclusive.

Talking to Dualshockers at Gamescom a few weeks back, Dissidia NT producer Ichiro Hazama stated that they are not considering any other platforms at the moment. Instead they want to ensure that their relationship with Sony is honored, and that the current PlayStation 4 build of the game is perfected.

The original arcade version of the game, Dissidia Final Fantasy, runs on a PlayStation 4-based arcade board, so this may not exactly be an unexpected move. That said, other games on similar arcade hardware (e.g. Tekken 7) have made it onto other platforms. This, on top of the PlayStation 4 hardware itself being based on the x86 architecture that powers modern PCs and Microsoft’s Xbox One. However, Square Enix seems focused on refining the game on PlayStation 4 alone. As part of this, director Takeo Kujiraoka has confirmed that the game will also feature PlayStation 4 Pro support.

Tekken 7: Fated Retribution receives “Version N” balance patch, makes Xiaoyu AOP sweep juggable, buffs Lee

Bandai Namco has just announced the latest balance patch for Tekken 7: Fated Retribution (the arcade version currently in Japan and Korea) will be going live today, with a lengthy set of patch notes accompanying it on the official Tekken website. FLYING WONKEY over on avoidingthepuddle has mercifully translated the patch list for Western audiences, and there’s some big news among the changes:

Hwoarang

  • Rage Drive 2 & 3 (In Rage u/f+3, 4, 3+4) has been adjusted so that you no longer lose rage status by just inputting the entire command.
  • Human Cannonball (f+2+3) can now be done by performing a “slide input” for the command (f+2~3).

Note: Bug fixes. The Rage Drive now has to have the 2nd and 3rd hit connect to consume your rage.

Xiaoyu

  • Firecracker (AOP 4~3) now leaves you closer to the opponent on block. Xiaoyu will now also be in an aerial state after having the move blocked.

Note: This makes the move now floatable on block.

Bryan

  • Snake Edge (d/f+3) attack hit box has been made bigger.

Note: Bug fix, sometimes the move will completely whiff right in front of the opponent.

JACK-7

  • Rage Art (In Rage, b+1+2) attack hit box has been made bigger.

Note: Assists in hitting opponents low profiling the Rage Art like with Dragunov’s d+2.

Dragunov

  • Clipping Sweep (d/b+3) now starts up 2 frames slower.
  • Pommel Swing (b+1, 2) 2nd hit now comes out 1 frame slower.
  • Ballistic Upper (while standing 2) attack hit box has been made bigger.

Note: Nerfs. The ws+2 change helps him punish certain lows that recovers in a low profile like Miguel’s d/b+1.

Lili

  • Edelweiss (d/b+4) attack hit box has been made bigger.

Note: Like the Bryan change above.

Leo

  • Xiang Chui (d/f+2+3) now leaves you closer to the opponent on block. It now recovers 1 frame slower on block. It also recovers 4 frames slower on whiff.

Note: Nerf, this makes the move -15 now.

Lucky Chloe

  • Rage Drive (In Rage, d/f+3+4 → 1+2) 1st hit on block makes the opponent recover 7 frames slower. The 1st hit has an additional 1 more frame of active hit frames. Pushback on the opponent after connecting with the 1st hit has also been reduced.
  • Rage Drive (In Rage, d/f+3+4 → 1+2) 2nd hit on block now also makes the opponent recover 7 frames slower.
  • Step Up (while crouching, d/f+4) now has 1 more additional active hit frame.

Note: The pushback for Rage Drive on hit for the 1st hit should make the 2nd hit more easier in combos.

Josie

  • Step In Tracer (ff+4) attack hit box made bigger. The move now has 1 additional active hit frame.

Note: Buff, this move would whiff a lot especially in cases where opponents would stand at the tip range or sidestep it.

Gigas

  • Monster Axe (f+2, d+1) attack hit box on the 2nd hit has been made bigger.
  • Hell Crusher (In Goliath, 2) Now has 2 more additional active hit frames.
  • Repelling Blast (d+1+2) Now has 1 more active hit frame.

Note: Bug fix for the f+2,d+1 which would whiff a lot if the opponent was very close to Gigas.

Kazumi

  • Jab (1) range on the jab has been reduced.
  • Standing four (4) now recovers 2 frames slower on block and on whiff.
  • Crimson Dawn (d/f+1, 2) range on the 1st hit has been reduced.

Note: Nerfs. Standing 4 on block is now -9.

Nina

  • Sideslip (qcf+3) now has crouching status. This move was also adjusted so the move will now connect in situations where it looks like it should hit.

Master Raven

  • Quicksand Catastrophe (while crouching, d/f+3+4 → 4) attack hit box on the 1st hit has been made bigger. The frames where Master Raven has crouching status during the animation of the 1st hit of the move has been increased by 8 frames.

Note: Bug fix, hitbox made bigger make it connect more often since opponents would go right through it sometimes when very close. She also is considered in crouching status for 8 frames longer during the 1st hit animation.

Lee

  • Lee Somersault (4, u+3) now leaves you closer to the opponent.
  • Laser Edge Lee Somersault (d+4, n, 4, u+3) now leaves you closer to the opponent.
  • Rear Cross Punch (b+2) attack hit box has been made bigger.
  • Grass Snake (d/b+3+4) can now be done with d,d/b+3+4.
  • Twister Heel (while standing 2, 4) now recovers 2 frames faster on hit and leaves you closer to the opponent.
  • Silver Tail (while crouching, d/f+4) losing crouching status on this move by cancelling it into HMS has now been fixed.

Note: Somersault changes make them easier to use in combos. d/b+3+4 change was to assist in not getting accidental Blazing Kicks. You won’t lose crouching status by cancelling Silver Tail into HMS now.

Eddy

  • Rage Drive (In Rage, ff+3+4) your opponent recovers 7 frames slower after blocking the 1st hit of the Rage Drive.

Note: You could interrupt the 2nd hit of this Rage Drive with certain moves even after blocking the 1st hit. This has now been changed to prevent that.

Eliza

  • Dark Blade (SRK 2) tracking/homing properties have been improved.
  • Dark Blade Chaos (SRK 1+2) tracking/homing properties have been improved.
  • d/f+2,3 — Due to the 2nd hit of this move whiffing if you manage to land the 1st hit on the opponent’s side, the properties of the 1st hit of this move for your opponent has been changed.
  • Dark Cannon (qcb+3 & air qcb+3) now recovers 3 frames slower.

System Changes

  • Certain bugs with Eliza’s projectile attacks being parried/reversed have been fixed.
  • Certain bugs where air throws were not registering on Eliza after she is on the wall (wall splatted) have been fixed.
  • Various other minor system bug fixes.

While no date has been set for the console version, it’s an inevitability that we will see these updates on the console at some point.
