Venom Racks and Breaks in This Guilty Gear Xrd -REVELATOR- CMV

Today, we have Venom cueing up a ton of hits in this combo video from Sean English. The second of his Venom combo videos, this one aims to be more impractical than the inaugural in the series.

The results are some heavy combos that puts proper english on the opponents, sending them caroming every which way across the screen. My personal favorite combo comes at 3:30, but your mileage may vary. Either way, there’s something for everyone in this combo video.

Have a Laugh or Two with LiangHUBBB’s Funny and Cool Moments Episode 96

After a three-month break, LiangHUBBB is back with episode 96 of his long-running Funny and Cool Moments series. Though the series has been running for over six years now, there are still countless entertaining moments from a variety of both modern and classic fighting game titles on display for your viewing pleasure.

This episode includes clips from Tekken 7: Fated Retribution, Mortal Kombat XL, Street Fighter V, King of Fighters XIV, Guilty Gear Xrd -REVELATOR- and Dead or Alive 5 Last Round, as well as classic titles, like Melty Blood Actress Again Current Code and Samurai Shodown, just to name a few.

Highlights include Steve hitting Law with his Rage Art, sending him into the sky–before the game freezes up and he never comes down for the K.O., as he’s seemingly doomed to drift through space. We’ve also got some swaggy V-trigger sequences with Ibuki, Urien and R. Mika, who also finds herself seeing stars after literally putting Ryu on a bus in the Bustling Side Street. Another Ryu player falls victim to a bomb-packing Rashid, Shadow Chie shows an unsuspecting Minazuki player the power of “the True Self,” with P4AU Version 2.0’s improved Shadow Frenzy mechanic, Nakoruru misfires her Climax super and a poor Bison player EX Devil Reverses his way into Karin’s Critical Art. In perhaps my favorite clip, Vega ensures that Balrog “won’t see the full 10 count,” by knocking him out of the startup of Gigaton Blow for a narrowly-earned victory, and we even have a Double K.O. from TFC 2016 on everyone’s favorite DOA5LR stage: the Danger Zone.

And what would a Funny and Cool Moments video be without some salty microphone rants from the online realm, with UM Imstilldaddy and Netotigr losing it in moments that are certainly NSFW. We also learn that-even in 2016-with Injustice 2 on the horizon next year, there are some players who still can’t help but rage at Deathstroke in Injustice: Gods Among Us!

What were your favorite moments in this video? Was this your first time seeing some of these wacky sequences? Let us know in the comments. You can check out the other 95 episodes of Funny & Cool Moments, as well as various other videos on LiangHUBBB’s Channel.

Catch Some of the Community’s Best Rounds in XusesGB’s Latest Street Fighter V Compilation

While XusesGB has been doing a great job in keeping the community abreast of what high level players are doing during their online training, he has not forgotten the little guys. Recently he asked the community to submit their own personal best rounds, and they most certainly delivered.

The result of the submissions are some amazing displays of talent from people that often don’t get their own time in the spotlight. The rounds range from amazing perfects to incredible against-all-odds comebacks.

This is the second and most certainly won’t be the last of Xuses’ community compilations, so make sure to be on the lookout for the next submission window.

Rude Awakenings: Ken Okizeme Options for Street Fighter V

The opponents will wish they just stayed down.

In Street Fighter V–as in prior versions, and most fighting games, really–what happens between knockdown and wake-up makes all the difference between a continuing beatdown or a fortunate escape (or reversal). Ken is well-known as an aggressive rushdown fighter–to keep that pressure on you’ll need the tools to ensure the former and prevent the latter!

Check out NurseLee’s guide to Ken okizeme below, focusing on Ken’s MK Tatsumaki Sempukyaku in particular–a solid entry for beginners, and experienced players might still pick up a tip or two.

F K Digital Releases Character Trailers for Chaos Code: New Sign of Catastrophe

With the PlayStation4 update of Chaos Code coming to Japan next month, F K Digital have uploaded their first wave of character trailers, showing off the roster of their anime fighter. F K Digital had released an initial trailer showing off Otagi Hikaru a week or so ago, but they have now released six more character trailers. The roster ranges from hard-hitting cybernetic ninja Kagari, to bearded chef Bravo who uses giant woks and rotisserie chickens as weapons, to the bespectacled Hermes, who seems to use spirits similar to Stands from JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure to fight. Still no trailers showing off Lupinus and Ray, the two brand new characters for Chaos Code: New Sign of Catastrophe, but I expect F K Digital are putting some footage together of those fighters as you are reading this.

Check out the trailers below and await more information on a Western release of Chaos Code: New Sign of Catastrophe in the near future. With a new Chaos Code coming in 2017, as announced as this year’s Toushinsai, expect F K Digital to be trying to crack the Western market sometimes in the new year.

Use Urien’s EX Knee Drop to Set Up Left/Right Mix-Ups in Street Fighter V

While there’s been a lot that’s been written about Urien’s mix-ups, especially with his Aegis Reflector, not as much focus has been given to his EX Knee Drop. While most are aware of its use as a decent pressure tool, most players are just content to leave it at that.

In the video below however, Rotbah demonstrates how the EX Knee Drop can be used to set up a tricky left/right mix up. After a crouching heavy punch into heavy punch Metallic Sphere fireball combo, players can do EX Knee Drop and control where Urien lands by holding forward to land behind their opponent, or nothing to land in front.

The interesting thing about this set up is that, wherever Urien lands, he’s perfectly primed to beat 3 frame jabs with a meaty crouching heavy punch. Now, while the latter move is unsafe on block, Urien can still cancel into EX Metallic Sphere to keep himself safe, while also putting him at the perfect distance to punish most crouching jabs.

Check out the mix-up below.

Get ready for some rockin’ Dragon Ball jams!

Today, in the ever expanding Dragon Ball timeline, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 releases throughout North America for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Bandai Namco also released an interview with internationally acclaimed DJ, Steve Aoki, examining his work in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2.

Aoki discusses his humble beginnings in anime, including his involvement with an anime club during his college years. The DJ also elaborates on his favorite characters, with Goku being an “obvious” choice, but also praising Gohan for his development in the Cell Saga.

Aoki finds himself extraordinarily humbled to be a part of Dragon Ball history through his music in Xenoverse 2.

“It’s a dream come true,” says Aoki. “How could I tell my fourteen-year-old self, that I would actually have a song in a video game?”

The DJ’s work on Xenoverse 2 includes remixes of  Dragon Ball classics like “Cha-La Head-Cha-La” and “We Got Power.” Players can also expect to find Aoki as a non-playable-character within the actual game.

Be sure to download the free Steve Aoki pack to take advantage of these features.

The pass includes four additional content packs as well as early access to Future Trunks from Dragon Ball Super. Also from Super, Frost and Kyabe have been confirmed as the first two characters to be added to the title through future DLC.
