As part of the monthly update, several Heroes of the Storm characters have had adjustments made to abilities, most particularly those with long-duration stuns or roots. Varian, Malfurion and Murky have had tweaks applied to their abilities that hinder opponents’ movement. Tychus has also had some of his ranged abilities decreased and a slight damage reduction as well.
Heroes of the Storm – Azeroth Challenge Begins, Earn WoW & HotS Mounts
During the Azeroth Challenge event, Heroes of the Storm players who take on 15 games with a friend and while playing a World of Warcraft character will be able to earn a brand new mount in both games. The HotS mount is the Flames of Judgment Charger while the WoW mount is called the Primal Flamestrider.

Heroes of the Storm is running a nifty cross-game promotion. Between February 14th and March 14th, play fifteen games with a friend while also playing as a Warcraft hero and earn the Flames of Judgment Charger in Heroes and the Primal Flamesaber in World of Warcraft.
Heroes of the Storm – Overwatch’s Lucio Skating into the Nexus
Overwatch’s Lucio is bringing the beat down to the Heroes of the Storm Nexus as the next hero heading into the game. Lucio will take on a support role both buffing and healing companions. The PTR will be updated on February 6th and Lucio will join up for players to check out.
Heroes of the Storm – Heroes of the Dorm Competition Partners with Facebook
Blizzard Entertainment has announced a deal to bring the Heroes of the Storm collegiate tournament, Heroes of the Dorm, exclusively to Facebook Live. The tournament will see North American college teams duking it out for $500,000 in scholarships and prizes. The eSports series will kick off on February 15th with all matches through the National Championship to be broadcast live via Facebook.
Heroes of the Storm – Team Responds to the Release of Another Warcraft Assassin
The Heroes of the Storm forum has been agitated after the announcement of the release of the next hero, Valeera Sanguinar, a Warcraft Assassin character. Players are wondering why so many 1) Warcraft heroes; and 2) so many Assassin heroes have been released into the game. In answer, Blizzard’s Lead Hero Designer Kent-Erik Hagman responded with a lengthy post explaining the hero design process and how the decisions have been made with regard to the release of heroes into the game.
Heroes of the Storm – Valeera Sanguinar to Join the Nexus
The Heroes of the Storm Twitter account has been updated with the news that Valeera Sanguinar, a Blood Elf assassin from World of Warcraft that has transcended the faction struggle by becoming a companion to Varian Wrynn. “I am neither Horde nor Alliance. What has either faction ever done for me?”
Heroes of the Storm – Try Out the Full Roster of Heroes All Weekend
Blizzard will be unlocking the full Heroes of the Storm roster from January 13-16 in celebration of a big 2016 and to start off 2017 on the right foot. Last year featured a number of brand new events and the addition of a lot of new heroes. A free roster weekend offers an opportunity to try out all those heroes that haven’t come up on the free rotation lately, including the wickedly OP Ragnaros!

Blizzard has announced that the next assassin ready to hit Heroes of the Storm is none other than Warcraft 2’s Zul’Jin, the Amani Warlord. He is a Troll Berserker who throws axes at his prey. He becomes stronger as he takes damage.
