Gigantic – Fluid, Dynamic, Fast-Paced Combat Explored in Dev Diary

The Gigantic team has sent out the second in a series of video developer diaries to give insight into the creation of the game. The entire team is integral in play-testing the game on a daily basis and to see if what is being worked on is functioning correctly. Final Fantasy XIV – Jumping Potions in KR/CH to Make Catching Up Easier

A post made by Final Fantasy XIV Game Director Naoki Yoshida over the weekend was made to clarify to the community the background behind the new “Jumping Potions” that are now available in both the Korean and Chinese FFXIV markets. These potions are intended to “make it easier for the newer players to catch up with the rest of the community”. New players just coming into the game may not have enough time to invest in the game and potions are a way to facilitate their fun.

Lord of the Rings Online – LOTRO and DDO Move Over to Standing Stone Games

The Lord of the Rings Online and Dungeons & Dragons Online have been acquired by Standing Stone Games, a newly-formed independent game studio made up of the same groups that have been working on LOTRO and DDO for years. We remain committed to both games, and are thrilled to be able to take these games in exciting directions for a long time to come. Standing Stone Games will operate as an independent studio, with global publishing support from Daybreak Games.

Path of Exile – The Exiled Tribune – Grab a Piece of PoE History

This week’s Path of Exile – The Exiled Tribune features a pretty cool new contest introduced by the team that allows players free rein to create anything game-related in whatever medium appeals to them. The best part is that winners will receive truly one-of-a-kind comic artwork for their effort! Add in a new developer interview and new microtransactions, including some nifty holiday-themed ones, and it’s another great week to be an Exile!

Guild Wars 2 – The European Guild Versus Guild Tournament

Amongst all these big updates, it would be pretty easy to have missed the end of the European Guild versus Guild tournament that took place, especially considering that this project was 100% community run and funded.

EverQuest II – Chaos within Kunark

The northern reaches of Kunark has been opened up, introducing one new overland zone (Obulus Frontier) as well as several dungeons–including iconic EverQuest zones such as the Crypt of Dalnir, Kaesora, and the City of Mist.
