Everyone has a fighting chance
Over the last two weeks we have touched on the build up to Heavensward and some of the new systems in the game. This week I want to talk about the reason we have headed north to begin with, the remaining two classes; Machinist and Astrologian, as well as the Mac brewhaha. Next week I’ll do the official review and put a bow on it.
I’m a bit torn on the concept of a "ruinable" character in Crowfall. The folks at ArtCraft Entertainment have said a few times now that it is possible to build a character that is just outright broken from the start, but I’m not sure if everyone is quite ready for that yet.
As an MMORPG set in a medieval world, Gloria Victis must inevitably focus on combat. The main idea was to base it on player skill instead of the character’s statistics or equipment, contrary to the classic MMOs. To achieve this goal we decided to use a Non-Target system, so the player has to manually aim their attacks at the opponent at the right time, from a proper distance and direction, adjusting the strength of a strike as well.

Backers of Shards Online will have a chance to dive into the latest build when servers come up at 6:00 pm Eastern / 3:00 pm Pacific on Thursday, July 9th. Servers will remain open "until the end of the day Friday", though an exact time has not been revealed.

Those who have prepurchased the Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns expansion will be happy to hear that this weekend is a special test weekend featuring both the new Revenant class and Strongholds. From Friday, July 10th to Monday, July 13th, players can log in and play a Revenant in any part of the available game world including WvW, PvP, and PvE.
Blizzard is revealing the first new Overwatch hero since the originals were unveiled along with the game itself at last year’s Blizzcon. Called "Soldier: 76", he is a highly trained warrior who uses a variety of weapons to make his point.
