Square Enix announced today that the much-rumored remake of Final Fantasy VII is indeed a reality and will be heading to the PlayStation 4, though no release or anticipated window was announced. The team did, however, send out a great new video. Check it out!

Ubisoft today unveiled the sequel to last year’s South Park: The Stick of Truth during today’s press event during the first day of E3. Called South Park: The Fractured but Whole, players will take on roles as The New Kid and join South Park characters to investigate the dark heart of South Park alongside Coon and Friends.

I’ll be the first to admit my skepticism about Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. First impressions can be everything in the subscription MMORPG space–almost fatally so for some. Embed the idea that a title has no future and it’s game-over. The original FFXIV was such a disaster with a plethora of well-documented and extensive faults that many predicted that even a free-to-play conversion wouldn’t save it.

Aventurine CEO and founder Zad Mehdawi took to the DarkFall forums today to announce that despite player petitions there will be no rebooting of the original game. Mehdawi cited the company’s commitment to making Darkfall Unholy Wars a much better game overtime. He also thanked the community for their support and interest and reinforced the idea that Aventurine wants to be a company of which every player can be proud.
