Victor outlines what you’ll need to prepare for the Heavensward expansion of Final Fantasy XIV.

Although I haven’t played The Lord of the Rings Online since about the Siege of Mirkwood / Rise of Isengard era, there was a time when it was my go-to MMORPG regardless of what else I was playing. I’ve spent countless hours in Turbine’s representation of Middle-earth, and find that I still measure other MMOs up against the quality of their flagship title.

GamesIndustry.biz is reporting that Linda "Brasse" Carlson has joined Trion Worlds as the Director of Community Relations. Carlson was formerly Community Manager at Sony Online Entertainment and was subsequently laid off shortly after the company was sold off by Sony and became Daybreak Game Company.

Gematsu is reporting that Square Enix, in partnership with Tri-Ace, is developing Star Ocean 5: Integrity and Faithlessness. There is no word on a western release. The game is set on the planet Feycreed.

Area Effect has announced the successful completion of its Steam Greenlight campaign for the procedurally generated RPG, Izle. To celebrate the big news, a playable demo for both Mac and PC has been released to give players a taste of what is in store when Izle is complete.
