With a few notable exceptions, sports games aren’t usually something I’ll get excited about, which is why CCP’s latest idea fascinates me. Project Arena takes the ideas behind dodgeball and tennis, wraps them in some fun and futuristic mechanics, and presents them in full VR. The result is a game that’s immediately accessible and, surprisingly, huge fun to play.

On April 12th, Ubisoft Massive released its first major content addition to The Division, finally adding its version of raids, called Incursions. While the additional content for max level players is welcome, the execution of the update was terrible. In no time at all, players were exploiting the raid and earning multiple max level items, breaking the Dark Zone while they were at it. Ubisoft needs to teach these players a harsh lesson.

Zenimax and Bethesda have announced that The Elder Scrolls: Legends strategy card game has entered its closed beta phase of development. Eligible players have been sent notification about the specifics of participation and more will be invited over the coming months. The Legends team will also be on hand at this weekend’s PAX East with a demo for attendees to try out.

Today, at EVE FanFest, CCP announced Project Nova, a new free-to-play first-person shooter. Currently in development by the Shanghai team behind Dust 514 and Project Legion, this new effort rebuilds that core experience from the ground up. For shooter fans, Project Nova is intended to be an immediately familiar experience.
