General: Obsidian & Paradox to Bring Tyranny to the World

Last night at the Paradox press conference the team displayed their latest foray into the RPG category. Tyranny was eagerly awaited by the crowd as it is the first RPG to be announced after the huge success of Pillars of Eternity. The game is every dark fantasy fan’s dream building up a world where evil has won over the landscape and now destruction reigns.

General: Caribbean Conquest – MMO in the Age of Sail

For fans of ship-based MMO action, a new KickStarter has launched for a project called Caribbean Conquest with devs hoping to raise $43,000 to expand development. The team calls is a naval / pirate themed MMO set during the Age of Sail. The game will feature skill based progression though without traditional levels.

General: PlayStation VR Comes in at $399

During today’s Game Developer’s Conference, Sony announced that its PlayStation VR headset will cost $399 and will be ready for release in October 2016. The announcement was made by Sony’s CEO Andrew House. In addition, House revealed that over 230 developers are currently working on content for the PlayStation VR.

General: I am Setuna Set to Debut in the West This Summer

Tokyo RPG Factory and Square Enix will be working to localize “I am Setsuna” (Ikenie to Yuki no Setsuna in Japan) with plans to release it in the EU and NA for PlayStation 4 and PC (via Steam) this summer. According to Gematsu, the game is inspired by Chrono Trigger and brings back true JRPG gaming.
