The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) is ongoing from now through January 9th and MSI is on hand to show off a full line that it says defines “the future of PC gaming”. Laptops, all-in-ones, peripherals, components and desktops are all on display during the annual convention.

General: Rick & Morty to Star in New Pokemon-Style Game
Adult Swim announced that a new free game will be released based on its show Rick & Morty. The game will be a mash up of Pokemon and Rick & Morty, unsurprisingly called Pocket Mortys and will be released on January 14th. At this time, there is no definitive listing of what platforms or how much the game will cost but we’ll keep you posted as more information is released.
General: Wizard Online – Magical Virtual Reality World in the Making
A post about a new game in development called “Wizard Online” on the MMORPG.com forums has caught our attention. It is a magical MMO that can be played in both non-VR and in VR. Considered an open world MMO, devs say it will be ready for release on PC in early 2016 and a bit later for both PlayStation 4 and XBox One. VR devices are supported as well as motion controllers and more.

General: Oculus 2012 Backers to Get Free Kickstarter Edition Rift
Backers of the original Oculus Rift 2012 KickStarter initiative will be rewarded for their faith and forward vision. Backers will be given a free retail “Kickstarter Edition” Oculus Rift headset. Surveys will be sent out before February 1st. This gift affects nearly 7,000 of the original 9,500 backers.
General: Bombshell – Old Friends Meet Up in New Trailer
Bombshell is set to be released on January 29th. In a new trailer, we get a sneak peek at a meeting between two “old friends”, setting up the rivalry between Shelly “Bombshell” Harrison and Porfessor Jadus Heskel. Heskel’s character is voiced by none other than Jon St. John aka the voice of Duke Nukem. Check it out!
General: Is Beta the New Launch?
After taking time to read yesterday’s feature on The Upcoming MMOs of 2016 it really seems like more and more games that are launching in 2016 are already playable now. I’ve asked this question years ago when beta keys were given out like candy as a marketing ploy to get new players into the game. Betas are supposed to be for testing, at least, they used to be. Now, instead of being used to market a game, they are just outright used to sell the game in early access.
