David McKenzie, a former New World: Aeternum world lead designer, has answered tons of community questions on what the team hoped to add, the Aeternum overhaul/console port, whether Amazon might sell the game to another studio, and more.

New World: Aeternum may be shutting down in early 2027, but Amazon is delivering on promised improvements as the game remains in maintenance mode.  

In the official Discord server, the team announced that currencies and timers will be improved, and transmogs will be mass unlocked.

In some interesting news, as Amazon announced that New World: Aeternum’s servers would only be up till next year, one prominent game developer put in an offer, joking or otherwise, for the soon-to-be-sunset MMO.

Amazon has officially announced when New World: Aeternum’s servers will be brought offline, with the MMO officially shuttering on January 31st, 2027.

New World: Aeternum has added a new weapon, Daggers, despite the weapon class still being unfinished.
