Amazon Game Studios is preparing their first server merge of 2022 between the Avalon and Ramaja worlds in the Central EU region. Players were warned of the merge earlier this month as New World prepared for the merge of Ramaja on February 4th.
New World’s latest update addresses some of the bugs caused by January’s update, while also changing how housing data is stored.
New World is getting downtime to address several significant bugs stemming from yesterday’s January update.
The January update for New World is a huge one, and it adds Expedition Mutators, overhauls Fast Travel, and reduces base tax rates.
If you’ve been following Amazon Game Studios release of their, once highly anticipated MMORPG, New World, then you know that their launch didn’t exactly go as smoothly as they would have liked. As we head into 6 months after release, the players that have left the game on Steam in early December have yet to return, which has resulted in over a 90% drop in active daily players since the game launched in September of 2021, according to SteamDB.
January’s update is coming, and we’ve had the chance to chat a bit about it with Amazon’s World Experience Lead Mike Willette about some of its features, as well as ask about what’s coming on the horizon.
Character creation is once again available in New World after a downtime period was announced last night. There are still some questions from the community as to why.
The New World team has disabled character creation across all regions, with no further info at this time.
