Everyone has a fighting chance
Few things are better than a Russian power lifter. Zarya is an iconic new addition into the Overwatch character list. She packs a massive punch and plays as a solid tank class in the game. At PAX East, Blizzard announced Zarya and McCree to the fans. Zarya is a very solid tank with mid-range attack abilities and some great defensive specials. In the psycho-paced game of Overwatch, Zarya will quickly become a fan favorite despite her low speed.
Blizzard announced two new playable characters for Overwatch at yesterday’s panel: Zarya, a new female tank with a particle cannon and McCree, a six-shooter carrying bounty hunter who’s clearly not one for modesty given the fact he wears the title of BAMF on his belt buckle. We had a chance to sample McCree for ourselves on the show floor of this year’s PAX East and the character definitely lives up to his chosen moniker.
Blizzard has released a teaser picture for what seems to be a forthcoming opinion piece about Overwatch. The article is titled "The New Peacekeepers: Vigilante justice–is it vital in a post-Overwatch world?" Check it out and let us know what you think!
A rather oblique Twitter post has appeared on the Overwatch feed that shows a magazine cover with a shadowed figure on it. While nothing on the cover says anything about Overwatch, the appearance on its Twitter feed and the follow up post by a fan for people to scan the QR-code seems to indicate that a new character will be revealed soon. NeoGaf.com is reporting that the US Patent & Trademark Office has sent notification to Blizzard that all attempts to secure the name "Overwatch" have been suspended. The move comes as a result of conflict with another game that had filed for the same trademark six months prior to Blizzard. Overwatch, Blizzard’s entry into the MMOFPS market, was announced at November’s Blizzcon.
