RuneScape launched the next instalment of its Elder Gods Story arc today, the City of Senntisten. This marks the first time since RuneScape launched on mobile that the developer has released a major quest for both player bases.

For old gamers like Matt, RuneScape, from developer Jagex, has been with us since the beginning days of the MMO genre. A staple in the MMO space for over 20 years, RuneSpace has always worked to find new ways to reach out to the ever-growing MMO community. The team’s latest work towards that goal is the release of RuneScape to mobile devices. We sat down with two of the lead devs to talk about the mobile version.

It’s been a few months for Jagex, the developer of RuneScape. They’ve announced that the venerable MMORPG is coming to iOS and Android this summer, though the team has been dealing with this account recovery issue since March. Today the team provided another update on that front for those who are still affected.

Not often do we think of an MMO making a skill more friendly to being useable while you’re not actively playing, yet it happens more often than we conciously think. RuneScape has announced it’s reworking one of its least-trained skills, Divination, to make it both more interesting as well as more AFK-Friendly.
