Hi-Rez has released the Mid-Season Patch, a significant update, for SMITE that brings the newest member of the pantheon, Erlang Shen, into the game and kicks off the Summer of SMITE event. In addition, a number of gameplay changes have been implemented including changes to passives and some new items.

SMITE: Playstation 4 Version to Launch May 31st
PlayStation 4 SMITE fans have little time left to wait. Hi-Rez Studios has sent brief word that the official launch date for the SMITE PlayStation 4 version is now scheduled for Tuesday, May 31st.
SMITE: Unlock Special Items with the Viking Invasion Pass
SMITE players can now take advantage of a new in-game feature by grabbing the Viking Invasion Pass. Players can take part in special Viking-themed quests to earn ‘battle-hardened’ versions of Storm Jarl Chaac and Blood Jarl Kali.
SMITE: Dark Horse to Publish Game-Based Graphic Novel
Hi-Rez Studios and Dark Horse Comics have announced that a new graphic novel based on SMITE will be available in late December 2016. Called SMITE: The Pantheon War, the graphic novel will be created by John Jackson Miller (Star Wars, Mass Effect), cowriter Jack Banish, and artist Eduardo Francisco.
SMITE: Tomorrow’s Live Stream Event Aids Player in Cancer Battle
Hi-Rez has sent word that tomorrow marks the beginning of the Spring Fling Charity event from the company’s Georgia studios. All proceeds gained will be used to assist SMITE player David “Allied” Hance in his fight against cancer. The event will take place in the SMITE Twitch.tv channel beginning at 10:00 am Pacific / 1:00 pm Eastern tomorrow.
SMITE: Hi-Rez GM Quits After Ranting Over Selfishness of Suicide
Hi-Rez streamer Brandon ‘DM Brandon’ Nance has left the company after ranting to a donor about his attempted suicide. The viewer had made a $5 donation to Nance and indicated that watching his streams had helped him overcome a suicide attempt. After that, Nance went on a tirade about his controversial views on the subject.

SMITE: Jing Wei & Escape From the Underworld Added in Latest Update
SMITE has grown in a big way with today’s release of a new god for the pantheon and a new game play mode called Escape from the Underworld. The new feature adds an extra round to Arena mode and throws everyone into a small space to duke it out. The last deity standing wins the round for the team. The winning team will also score additional worshipers and normal match rewards.
