On March 15, 2016, Blizzard Entertainment and Dark Horse Comics will publish World of Warcraft Chronicle: Volume 1. The book is a compendium of lore and background information. The Legion expansion swirls around many of WoW’s iconic moments including Illidan, Queen Azshara, the Pillars of Creation, the Old Gods, the Titans and many others. We will be sharing a few excerpts over the course of the week and that will have relevance when Legion launches later in 2016.

YouTube’s DanielL is back with his first update in six months. He has been recreating iconic World of Warcraft locations using the Unreal 4 Engine. Previously, he had created videos of Goldshire and other locations in and around Westfall. This time, the video shows locations in and around the Dead Mines parts of Westfall. It’s a gorgeous look at what “could be”. See for yourself and let us know what you think!

The pair of interesting tidbits regarding World of Warcraft has come across our desk this week. The first being the upcoming relese of World of Warcraft: Chronicle Volume 1, the second about two players who have completed all 2511 achievements within the game.

Long ahead of the World of Warcraft: Legion expansion release currently slated for ‘summer 2016’ (which can mean up to mid-September), Blizzard has revealed the system specifications, both in minimum and recommended flavors. Check to see if your system meets the mark.

Over the past couple of weeks, a pair of interesting things have happened to pique the interest of World of Warcraft fans. Between the latest Legion alpha build and the release of the Activision-Blizzard 2015 investor report, fans and players were given a lot to think about.

During a special live stream event where Blizzard is hosting World of Warcraft streamers and YouTube personalities from both Europe and North America, viewers will be among the first to view some never-before-seen Legion alpha content that is not yet in the live alpha version currently running. Teams will be running the Maw of Souls dungeon in a race against the clock…and each other.

Blizzard has revealed that over $1.7M has been raised for the Make-A-Wish America and Make-A-Wish International through the sales of the World of Warcraft battle pet, Brightpaw. During the month of December, 100% of all pets sold went to Make-A-Wish.

One of the big features coming in the World of Warcraft: Legion expansion is the return to relevance of max-level dungeons. To show off Legion’s max-level dungeons, Blizzard is hosting a number of YouTube and live stream “personalities” as they race against time to complete the dungeons. The event will take place on Tuesday, February 9th at 3:00 pm Pacific / 6:00 pm Eastern in the Warcraft Twitch.tv channel.

With the World of Warcraft: Legion alpha back in service, we had the chance to hit the ground running in the newest build. Three areas are open and we took a trip through two of them: Highmountain and Stormheim with Suramar yet to go. Taking into account Blizzard’s projected release of “summer 2016” which can mean any day up to September 21st, and with the alpha in its current state, one has to wonder, “Will Blizzard make it?”

Legendary Pictures has released the first television teaser for this summer’s Warcraft movie. The commercial shows off several locations and is a synthesis of the longer trailer shown in theaters worldwide. Check it out!
