While the United States has typically been the hotbed of high level Mortal Kombat play, Europe is speedily catching up. The ESL has begun hosting a Community Cup in Europe featuring top players from various regions across the continent, and the event is showing diversity from across Europe as well as the spectrum of characters.

Although the event is single elim, this week’s replays features players from Russia, Greece, and the UK. It also features characters such as Sektor and Grandmaster Sub-Zero that aren’t often seen in high-level play. If you are wanting to see how Europe is getting down in this game, then you owe it to yourself to watch these replays.

Red Bull is currently hard at work at a brand new video feature on none other than the Beast himself, Daigo Umehara. To drum up some hype for the video, Red Bull has released a short teaser where Daigo shares some insights into his approach to Evo.

In the teaser–which you can watch in the tweet below–Daigo comments that he never goes into a match thinking that his opponent is weak enough that he can play halfheartedly. Despite being one of the best players in the world, or perhaps because of that fact, he never enters a match underestimating his opponent.

It’s been almost a week since keninblack earned a Critical Reaction sponsorship after his showing at CEOtaku, and he is very serious about improving and reaching new heights. With the help of fellow community member KPB|McPeanuts, a kumite was set up where he fought a series of FT5 sets against 10 other players. The event was held online, but Skullgirls–which uses GGPO–has some of the best netcode around to make such endeavors feasible, like when the community held a USA vs. JPN exhibition.

As for this kumite, 10 FT5 sets is quite the ordeal for anyone, and cR|keninblack ends up playing over 70 matches through this, testing his skill and adapting to new opponents. It’s definitely worth a watch if you’re interested in high level Skullgirls play!

Maxima is an interesting character in King of Fighters XIV, being the most aesthetically-overhauled returning character. He seemingly got the Guilty Gear Xrd Potemkin treatment, with vast technological additions. This visually imposing machine man is capable of heavy damage–as he should be–and we are given a taste of exactly how damaging he can be in the below video.
