The Frosty Faustings 2016 Recap Video Shows Hype and Memories

Frosty Faustings, organized by Mike “ElvenShadow” Boczar, prides itself as one of the few Guilty Gear-focused events. As Boczar has been playing Guilty Gear since around 2002 and has played with the best in Japan, he decided to host a winter tournament in Chicago, starting in 2008.

The following highlight video showcases Frosty Faustings VIII, which took place earlier this year in January. Among interviews with Adam “Keits” Heart and Boczar, there’s footage from Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- and Ultra Street Fighter IV.

Remember that you can be part of the upcoming Frosty Faustings. There’s still time to register for Frosty Faustings IX, which happens on January 27-28th in 2017. It will feature over 30 tournaments, including the famous Chicago Mystery competition.

desk Combos Through Time and Screen Transitions in This Latest Street Fighter Mixclip

Gliding gracefully between games in the series, desk’s latest Street Fighter mixclip is a thing of wonder; carrying combos across screen transitions and even different Street Fighter games. A exploding screen transition in Street Fighter V may lead to a follow up combo in Ultra Street Fighter 4, while some clips have a character traveling through time to finish their opponent off with a game hopping finisher.

As well as this time traveling combos, desk even mashes up scenes from the Street Fighter animated movie and recreates them in Street Fighter V, having both fights playing out side by side. This mixclip is truly a display of not only desk’s Street Fighter prowess, but his skills in the editing bay.

How to Avoid Getting Burst-Baited in Guilty Gear Xrd -REVELATOR-

Bursting can create on of the most hype moments in Guilty Gear Xrd -REVELATOR- and related games with similar mechanics. While this mechanic has everyone’s back, it also involves a metagame of burst-baiting and punishing that turns the match into a mindgame.

The latest episode of the Guilty Gear Crash Course is an in-depth coverage of how Bursts work. Novril begins by explaining how the gauge itself works. It’s important to remember that it retains over rounds, so using it at low health while the opponent is winning can turn out in wasting it. The episode ends with some very helpful tips on how to decrease the chances of the opponent reading a Burst and punishing it.

In -REVELATOR-, it’s also possible to do a Burst-enhanced Overdrive and to drain the opponent’s Burst gauge with a charged Blitz Attack.
