UK-Based Clothing Retailer Yellow Bulldog Offers Street Fighter-Themed Apparel For the Cold Months Ahead

RyuKenSweaterSMALL

The winter months are just around the corner and that means that it will soon be time to tuck those t-shirts away and break out the always-fashionable seasonal sweater collection to keep warm. If you’ve grown weary of your old standbys from past years, maybe a Street Fighter-themed sweater from the UK-based Yellow Bulldog will be just the spice your sweater collection needs to carry you into the new year. This stylish rendition of the classic battle between Ryu and Ken depicts exactly what happens when two Hadoukens collide: a lovely snowflake forms.

But we all knew that already. Right?

If you’d prefer to keep your love for Street Fighter as your own little secret, then perhaps Yellow Bulldog’s line of character-inspired socks will be more to your liking. Sold as a three pair set, these socks sport the colors, national flag and name of three different fighters: Ryu, Ken and Blanka. These are currently the only fighters available for foot coverage. Blanka stands out as a rather interesting choice when the remaining World Warriors may have been more readily recognizable. Maybe green is just a good sock color.

Learn How to Dish Out Damage with Celica A. Mercury in BlazBlue: Chronophantasma

With BlazBlue: Chronophantasma now updated to ver.2.0 in Japanese arcades, players have been putting in some early work with new character Celica A. Mercury. While she’s been part of the story for some time, this new version of the Arc System Works fighter marks the first time Ms. Mercury has been playable, and she’s already proving to be an interesting addition to the BlazBlue roster.

Over the past few days, a smattering of videos have been uploaded to Nico showing a variety of basic and high-damage combos for the fighter, who teams up with her partner Minerva for a variety of attacks. If you’re interested in doing some research before the update finds its way to consoles, these videos should be the perfect way to start.

Special thanks goes out to Jourdal for making us aware of these videos in the first place. You’ll find his uploads below the original videos.

Capcom Adds Puzzle Elements to Street Fighter for Upcoming Android and iOS Title

Capcom recently announced Street Fighter Puzzle Spirits, an upcoming mobile game which combines puzzle elements with the Street Fighter universe. Sadly, the title is not a reboot of the Puzzle Fighter series in spite of obvious similarities. Instead, the game, as you’ll see in the footage below, involves matching colored orbs to perform various attack strings against opponents in a touch screen-friendly environment. Fans of modern puzzle games will be quick to recognize similarities to Puzzle Quest as well as the popular mobile game Puzzle and Dragons.

The available footage suggests a decently-sized roster which incorporates fighters from Super Turbo all the way up through Street Fighter IV. As with most modern mobile games, Puzzle Spirits will be available free of charge and will offer in-game options to drop some cash if players so desire, though details surrounding such in-app purchases currently remain a mystery.

Capcom plans to release Street Fighter Puzzle Spirits to Japanese audiences for both iOS and Android devices this winter.

Curious How Competitive Super Smash Bros. 4 is Shaping Up? Let Jtails, Nairo, and Other KTAR X Attendees Show You

While the entire scene is sure to shift to the Wii U version upon its release next month, the Smash community has been providing some early glimpses of how early Super Smash Bros. 4 competition is shaking out by way of the recent handheld release. One of the first high-profile tournaments to include the game, KTAR X, wrapped up this past weekend, and we now have replays to check out courtesy of CLASH Tournaments.

In addition to the usual singles and doubles tournaments for Super Smash Bros. Melee and Super Smash Bros. Brawl, this regional event also featured some great matches in Super Smash Bros. for 3DS courtesy of competitors like Jtails and Nairo, the former sticking with Diddy through much of the event and the latter switching between Robin and Little Mac as the need arose.

We won’t go into too many details in the effort of keeping spoilers to a minimum, but one simian fighter in particular is looking to be a mighty strong contender in this new game’s early days.

You’ll find all of the finals matches below, but more are available in the official playlist if you’re in need of further footage.
