DragonBall Z Extreme Butoden Gets a Release Date In Japan

Some time ago, we reported that Bandai Namco Games and Arc System Works were working on a brand new Dragon Ball Z based 2D fighting game for the Nintendo 3DS. Now for those Japanese 3DS owners interested in picking this up, the latest issue of V Jump has confirmed that Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden will be hitting Japanese stores on June 11.

First print copies of the game will include a Golden Frieza disc for use in the Dragon Ball Discross arcade game, a movie Goku card for use in the Dragon Ball Heroes arcade game, as well as a download code for Dragon Ball Z: Super Butoden 2 Super Nintendo game for the 3DS’s Virtual Console.

In addition to this, players with save data from Dragon Ball Heroes: Ultimate Mission 2 on their Nintendo 3DS will be able to use Super Saiyan 4 Vegeta.

Finally, for those interested in trying the game out, a QR code to download a demo of the game will be included in next month’s issue of V Jump.

Warm Up Your Warlock Punches, It’s Time for Alpharad’s How to Play Ganondorf 101

Thanks to the incredible damage output, knock back and windup time of his Warlock Punch, and, to a lesser extent, his up tilt, Ganondorf thrives on making difficult reads in order to secure stocks in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. Of course, he can net kills with plenty of other moves as well, but let’s face it, there’s nothing quite so satisfying as landing his signature move.

Below, you’ll find a Ganondorf highlight reel from Alpharad, and since this is a video from his How to Play series, you’ll not only get to see the Zelda antagonist land some perfect Warlock Punches, but you’ll see plenty of hilarious uses of most of his other attacks as well. Get ready for some shield breaks, plenty of Ganoncides, and only the hardest of reads.

Make Everyday Tuesday With This Ultra Street Fighter IV M. Bison Tutorial

M. Bison has always been one of Street Fighter’s most iconic villains and it’s no surprise that more than a few players are drawn to the dictator in red. If you count yourself as one of these, then you might want to check the video below out.

Mono has put up a new installment of his M. Bison tutorial series, this one focusing on some of the new combos that Bison can do thanks to specific changes in Ultra Street Fighter IV. These include new combos on counter-hit as well as new links that can be combined with either an FADC or an EX Red Focus for some damaging combos.

Arc Divide: Renewal Footage Featuring Norcal Vs. SoCal 7-on-7 in Under Night IN-BIRTH Exe:Late

Anime games just had a massive tournament in the form of Arc Divide: Renewal, held by UGC Live from Panorama City, CA. The event features tournaments for games such a Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN-, Under Night IN-BIRTH Eex:Late, and Persona 4 Arena Ultimax.

The main even however was a 7-on-7 team battle. Here Northern California and Southern California faced each other to prove which end of the state had the best Under Night IN-BIRTH Exe:Late players on the west coast.

Fan Remake Turns Original Fatal Fury Into Sidescrolling Beat ‘Em Up

With so much focus on their King of Fighters series, it’s sometimes easy to forget that SNK’s fighting empire started with the original Fatal Fury back in 1991. Now, Italian fan studio SEEP have taken the old game, and remade it as a 2D beat ‘em up.

Fatal Fury Final is a fan-game that retells the story of the original Fatal Fury. Instead of a traditional fighter, however, the game has been turned into a sidescroller where the playable characters go through various hordes of thugs.

The game retains the old school Neo-Geo aesthetic, so much so that it could be mistaken for an old, unreleased game. Aside from the regular story mode, the game also has a South Town Quest mode that allows players to use not just the original three playable characters, but the non-playable bosses as well.

If you’re a fan of the original though, never fear, because the regular one-on-one gameplay can still be selected in a separate mode.

Get Your Falcon Punch Fix with this Super Smash Bros. Brawl Montage

While he’s far from the strongest character in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Captain Falcon is a top tier crowd pleaser. There’s something so satisfying about seeing a well-timed Falcon Punch light someone up and send them flying, or watching a perfectly-placed Fair connect to secure a match. If these are the sorts of things that get your blood pumping–and they probably are–then you’ll love the video embedded below.

The footage, which comes entirely from Brawl, shows off some of the craziest Falcon fighting out there. Everything from a Meta Knight eating two Falcon Punches at once, to what may be the most perfect Falcon Punch ever recorded. Add in a soundtrack straight from Mute City and it’s hard not to have a good time.

Abuget Cup, Indonesia’s Premiere Fighting Game Tournament, Happening on March 7, 2015

Advance Guard have just dropped the trailer for Abuget Cup 2015.  Part of the Beast of the East Tour, Abuget Cup is also the first Capcom Pro Tour ranking event for the South East Asia region for 2015.

The Abuget Cup is Indonesia’s premiere fighting game tournament with some of the best players in the country as well as from the rest of the region coming to fight. Its inclusion in the Capcom Pro Tour should help bring attention to these fighters, many of whom have yet to gain recognition in outside the region.
