Vesper Arcade’s Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- Leo Whitefang Tutorial Shows How to Wear Your Mane with Pride

If you’re looking to pick up Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN-‘s newest contender, Leo Whitefang, but don’t know where to begin, the latest tutorial from Vesper Arcade has all that you’ll need to start parrying like a champ.

This first part of the series sticks to the basics, focusing on foundational topics like normals and their uses, practicality to approach options, and how a match should unfold for a Leo player.

Vesper also includes a couple of brief combo concepts, but the bulk of the combo material will be coming in a later video. Don’t worry, though, with just shy of forty minutes of footage in this reel, there’s more than enough to keep you busy until the next part hits YouTube.

General: Dying Light First Impressions

Dying Light First Impressions

you’re forgiven if your response was, "wait, that zombie game?" Even though the marketing did an terrible job of explaining the RPG side of Dying Light, I’ve spent a few hours with the game and have no reservations: Dying Light has the reanimated heart of a roleplaying game. Purists may not be happy, but if can wrap your head around first-person, zombie smashing, breakneck parkour with a dash of survival, and deep character progression, you have a first-of-its-kind RPG.

PAX South 2015: One Gigantic Interview

Of all the new games I tried at PAX South, my favorite had to be Gigantic, Motiga’s arena battler, with its colorful and diverse cast of characters and smooth, accessible gameplay. After a couple of games, in which I performed surprisingly well (I’m as surprised as you are) I had the chance to sit down with Joe Pikop, Gigantic’s Lead Character Artist and talk about how the game looks and plays.

Guild Wars 2: Unpacking the Heart of Thorns Announcement

Unpacking the Heart of Thorns Announcement

We’ve been waiting a good long while for any peep about a full-fledged expansion for Guild Wars 2. ArenaNet’s flagship has seen a host of Living World updates, gameplay and feature additions, and balance tweaks, but the promise of a canonical expansion has been elusive. Just last month, I wrote about some alternatives to GW2’s Living World, with an expansion being the obvious choice to drive the post-launch game forward and create a new revenue stream.

Ermac Smashes His Way Into Mortal Kombat X

The gang’s all here! NetherRealm Studios has just revealed that Ermac will be playable in Mortal Kombat X.

Once only a rumored glitch in the original Mortal Kombat, the telekinetic has gone on to be a hugely popular cast member in the long-running franchise. After appearing in the 2011’s Mortal Kombat, Ermac will be bringing his unique style of beating opponents down to the next installment.

Like the rest of the cast, Ermac will have three different variations to choose from: Master of Souls, which gives him access to different projectiles and the ability to disappear for a few seconds; Mystic, which enhances his telekinetic abilities and grants him access to moves like his grab and push; and Spectral, which gives him more mobility by way of a flight mode with its own exclusive attacks.

Ermac has retained much of his defensive, punishing gameplay seen in past installments, but the other versions open him in ways that will allow players unfamiliar with turtling to jump in and see what he’s all about.

Mortal Kombat X will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC on April 14.
