With Mortal Kombat X freshly in the hands of eager fans, the community has positively exploded with day one tech videos. Combos and setups abound for the variety of characters that this new title offers, and we’ve gathered up a collection of some of the best clips from the first day.

Starting off, we’ve got a couple of videos from the master of commentary himself, David “UltraDavid” Graham. The grappler fan has shown a great deal of excitement with regard to Kotal Kahn and, as such, recently began creating videos that showcase some combos and setups for his Blood God variation.

The first video features a couple of useful combos, including the max damage output for a toward+2 opener at mid-range with one bar, and goes on to show some methods of getting totems into play and using blood sacrifice in a safe manner.

The longer of the combos that David displays in the previous video can be difficult to land due to the nature of the neutral jump punch included at the beginning, so he released a follow-up demonstration with a slightly easier variant that omits the move but still offers up almost the same amount of damage.

If that wasn’t enough Kotal Kahn for you, SpabRog made a video that shows plenty more combo options for the deity. These combos spend a good deal of time focusing on the character’s Sun God fighting style and prove that his damage output remains just as ridiculous in other variations.

Back around the release of Ultra Street Fighter IV, High0nPCP was at the forefront of discovering and sharing techniques for Decapre. Now with a new fighting game in his hands, he’s getting back into the combo video scene with an impressive first offering in the form of a Scorpion combo video.

The video features combos for all three of the ninja’s variants, progressing in both damage output and level of difficulty as the exhibition goes on.

Up next, VesperArcade has provided a handful of combos for Scorpion as well. Similar to the video above, this footage includes options for the Ninjutsu, Hellfire, and Inferno versions of this classic fighter, and should give Scorpion players a perfect place to get started.

And it’s always nice to have some anti-air tricks up your sleeve, so mets3214 figured out a way for Inferno Scorpion to score huge damage off a misplaced jump. The combo shells out a whopping 44% damage, which should deter opponents from making unsafe jump-ins.

Team Spooky’s NerdJosh takes the stage next with a healthy helping of Ferra/Torr combos for the duo’s Lackey variant. These combos start out beginner-friendly and offer modest damage output, but quickly escalate to top out at around the 45% mark, which is nothing to scoff at.

The next video, which comes from Elite Tournament Chile’s Mcfly, shares some combos for the game’s resident purveyor of the bladed hat, Kung Lao. The video has a long intro dedicated to Mcfly’s upcoming attendance of Galloping Ghost Arcade’s Shang Tsung’s Fight Night dedicated to the legends of Mortal Kombat, but the combos begin at around the 1:20 mark, doling out big damage across all variants as well as some specific to each of the fighter’s three styles. Some of these also include Brutality enders to put the hurt on opponents in a stylish manner.

With different playstyles available to every character in the game, we are now faced with the opportunity to pick up combos that are not only specific to our fighter of choice, but also to the variant that we play. In order to show just how much this can affect something like a simple bread and butter, SupermanSajam put together a quick look at one of Cassie’s combos and how it changes across each of her variants.
