General: Aurion: Legacy of the Kori-Odan – A Game Filled with Surprises

One of the best things about video game conventions, and PAX conventions in particular, is the sheer number of indie games which get to be put in front of thousands of people right along with the big names. With so many indie games gathered together I always manage to find a few which are really interesting but had previously escaped my notice. This year Aurion: Legacy of the Kori-Odan is the one which really surprised me.

Camelot Unchained: Offense vs Defense vs Tricks

There I was, sail at half-mast sipping on a bottle of “meditation” as I casually drifted through the CUniverse wondering if this column would ever find its soul. Just when I was about to take a dive into the dark waters of infinity (sleep) I was awakened by a succulent smell on a gentle breeze that was this juicy tidbit from CSE Ben in the latest Camelot Unchained newsletter.

Use Kim Wu’s Way of the Dragon to Set Up Meaties in Killer Instinct

In her transition to Season 3 of the rebooted Killer Instinct, Kim Wu has gained a few interesting changes from her classic incarnation. One of these is Way of the Dragon, a series of target combos that act somewhat like a Mortal Kombat or Tekken strings in that subsequent attacks come out on whiff, as well as on hit or block.

This property, as well as the fact that any hit of these target combos can be special canceled, means that Way of the Dragon can be used to set up meaty situations off her throw. In this new video, Hughboyzilla demonstrates how a well-timed application of these attacks can be used to beat out wakeup options. Additionally, the fact that the medium punch version moves Kim backwards means that it can also avoid certain invincible reversals, allowing her to punish them.
