Check Out these Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike East vs. West Exhibition Replays from Saitama, Japan

Earlier this month, Game Daytona ran a 20-player exhibition pitting two factions of Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike players against each other. The competition was fierce, and you can watch it right now, for free, on NicoNico–that is of course, assuming that you have at least a free account that you’re logged into.

There’s a wide character selection present in these replays: Alex, Remy, Necro, and more all make appearances. There are some impressive runs from Teppoudama’s Ryu and Dokura’s Yang, in particular. And, of course, no Japanese 3s event is complete without some insane YSB Hugo parries. Sit back and enjoy the high level action from across the waters!

The players representing each side are:

East

Funyosu, Talbain, Baru-nyan, Akagaeru, Hiroyuki, Atsugari, Heboryu, Ebara, Tamihe, Match, Mimora

West

Shibata, Teppoudama, 339, D5, HT, Y・S・B, Thanatos, Dokura, Tominaga

Unlock the True Power of the King of Darkness in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U

For a while now, we’ve known what some of the best characters in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U can do. We’ve all seen Zero Suit Samus do an elevator combo to oblivion, or Sheik swipe an opponent from left to right and back again. And well, the less said about some of the things that Rosalina and Luma are capable of, the better.

Other characters have been developed less, however. Maybe it’s because they’re not seen as the same sort of top level threat, or maybe it’s because they take a lot of effort to make work, but that doesn’t mean that there aren’t some dedicated players who want to truly plumb the depths of everything their character can do. Gleed is one such player who has taken to the internet to show off some of the coolest tricks Link’s age-old antagonist, Ganondorf, can pull off.

There’s everything from ledge cancels to swaggy footstools on offer, with examples that customarily end with a show of disrespect to the opponent. That is, after all, why you’re playing Ganondorf right? Check out some of his craziest techniques below, and be sure to stick around to see some disgusting applications of them at the end of the video. Ganon players, it’s time to start practicing your evil laughs!

Invite the Pain with these Introductory Guilty Gear Xrd -REVELATOR- Raven Combos

The console release of Guilty Gear Xrd -REVELATOR- is drawing near, and with its release, two console-exclusive characters, Raven and Kum Haehyun (and a third promised, but not yet properly revealed Dizzy).

Raven’s shtick is pain and masochism, as that’s one of the few sensations his immortal, regenerating body allows. In-game, this is translated with an excitement meter that fills up as he takes damage, which then empowers his moves and lets him extend combos.

While many of us await getting our hands on this mid-range zoner, Peter Fury, who’s the community manager for European Guilty Gear and BlazBlue, has been teasing short clips of Raven with explanations and short combos, which you can find below.

For a more detailed breakdown on Raven and Kum Haehyun’s moves, MBA GAMING recently published an overview on both console characters.
