Watch desk Demonstrate Birdie’s Armor Cancel Exploit in This Street Fighter V Video

Armor Cancelling: an exploit in the Street Fighter IV series that allows a cancel from an EX armored move on the second frame into a Super Combo–something that should be impossible since it would consume 4 bars of EX gauge, but because the gauge didn’t empty instantaneously it was possible with a full 3 bars. While Capcom has been fairly thorough removing this sort of glitch-exploit from Street Fighter V, it looks like Birdie got a pass: thanks to having armor on the first frame of his EX Bull Head, this cancel is possible for him. In his latest video, desk demonstrates this technique and breaks down how to perform it in various scenarios.

According to desk, Zangief’s V-skill also shares this property, but SFV’s priority system prevents a useful exploit of it.

Pre-Registration Now Available for Fight for The 6ix: 2nd Impact

Acting as the Canadian qualifying events of the North American Proving Grounds tournament series run by Red Bull, players can now pre-register for Fight for The 6ix: 2nd Impact over at their smash.gg page. The tournament will be held in the Medical Sciences Building of the University of Toronto and there is the potential for a $1000 pot bonus if the player count for Street Fighter V reaches or exceeds 128 players.

A first place placing at Fight for the 6ix will guarantee 300 placement points on Toronto’s Red Bull ranking, which will eventually determine Toronto’s entrant to the Red Bull Regional Playoffs, to be held at the Red Bull headquarters in Santa Monica. Do note that while non-Canadians can compete in this tournament for the monetary prize, they will not receive any placement points for their victory. Also, do not fret if you cannot make it to 2nd Impact, there are two more of these placement tournaments to be held in August and September.

The winner of that playoff will then win an all expenses paid trip to Seattle, to compete in the Red Bull Battle Grounds which also acts as the North America Finals for the Capcom Pro Tour.
