Ryu Follows His Fist to Your Toy Shelf with Storm Collectibles’ Upcoming Street Fighter V Figure

Storm Collectibles is launching a new line of Street Fighter V figures, and the series’ first candidate is the wandering eternal warrior Ryu; unsurprising, considering his status as Street Fighter’s brand icon.

The upcoming figure will stand 7 inches tall (1:12 scale) and feature over 30 points of articulation, allowing it to be positioned in most of his recognizable normal attacks and stances, and his classic hadouken, shoryuken and tatsumaki senpukyaku special moves. Multiple face, hand, and hadouken elements will be included.

Storm Collectibles’ Street Fighter V series is set for a worldwide release, making them easier to get than their prior Mortal Kombat line. In North America, this figure will be available directly through Bluefin Distribution, so you can expect to see Ryu available in both online stores and specialty shops. Unfortunately, the price and release date are not yet confirmed, so eager collectors are advised to keep an eye on Storm Collectibles and Shoryuken.com for further information.

Warner Bros. and NetherRealm Adding $50,000 Pot Bonus to Mortal Kombat X at Evo

Evolution is hands down the largest, and most important fighting game tournament of the year. As such, it’s not surprising that developers are often eager to add to the prize pools of their games at the event. This year, Warner Bros. Interactive and NetherRealm Studios are doing just that by adding $50,000 to the prize pool for Mortal Kombat X at Evo 2016. This matches the $50,000 bonus that they added to last year’s tournament at Evo.

With Mortal Kombat X having established a solid tournament following, this pot bonus seems to indicate that both companies are committed to supporting their games and their community when it comes to competition. Here’s hoping that they can continue this support in the future for both Mortal Kombat X, as well as their upcoming Injustice 2.
