Smash 3 Attempts to Bring Super Smash Bros. for Wii U’s Aesthetic to Brawl and Project M

A lot of the mod attention for Smash games is given to Project M but it is one of many community mods out there. Smash 3, one of the more ambitious mods, is attempting to port over the visual style of Super Smash Bros. for Wii U to Brawl. This means swapping or completely remaking the more vibrant character models of Smash 4 to replace Brawl’s realistic models.

Seeing as it is a general texture mod, Smash 3 works with both standard Brawl and Project M, so characters like Roy (who was absent from Brawl) also get the visual overhaul. In the trailer below, you see Marth, Ike and Roy all benefiting from this change in art style. If you are someone who is caught between both Smash 4 and Project M, this mod may act as the perfect way to bridge the gap between the two.

Learn About Chun-Li’s Civilian Friends in These Next CFN Profiles

Our next set of Capcom Fighters Network profiles take us to one of the most obscure corners of the Street Fighter universe. Back in 2008 as part of Street Fighter’s 20th Anniversary, Capcom released a pachislot game developed by Enterrise in Japan, titled Chun-Li ni nakasae China, which translates to “Chun-Li Leaves China.” The first game to feature Chun-Li in a starring role follows the Strongest Woman in the World, along with Rose, Guile, Sakura and Ryu, as they battled Zangief and the forces of Shadaloo: the Dolls, Cammy, Vega and M. Bison, in addition to rescuing an unnamed girl. Akuma even makes an appearance. These next profiles will focus on the two original characters created for the game, Chun-Li’s friends Mary and Reiko.

Today we’re focusing on profiles of characters appearing in Chun-Li Leaves China. This is Mary. She’s a normal girl who doesn’t fight.

In the past, she was involved in a kidnapping incident while vacationing in Hong Kong and was rescued by Chun-Li. She has a very calm and quiet demeanor. She enjoys reading mystery novels sitting on a public park bench, where she tends to totally zone out. Her memory and insight is amazing. In the future, she hopes to work for some sort of an intelligence agency. How about Shadaloo? It’s a great place to work, I promise!

Another character who appeared in “Chun-Li Leaves China.” You can tell that this woman loves motorcycling just by looking at her outfit. She doesn’t practice any martial arts, thus she cannot fight.

Basic Info:

Name: Reiko
Height: 163cm
Weight: 54kg
Blood type: B
Birthday: May 20th
Home Country: United States
Likes: Motorcycle, Watermelon
Dislikes: Clouds of Dust

Reiko SFV Artwork

She’s a famous road racer that’s actively competed in various countries all over the world. She’s an extremely competitive person with an unyielding personality who hates losing. A few years ago, she happened to witness Mary’s kidnapping by chance, which led to her aiding Chun-Li in her investigation. All was successfully resolved. Since then, they’ve become good friends and keep in contact with each other. She loves her favorite red racing suit. She’s really cool! Let’s sponsor her! Please Lord F.A.N.G! How about we send some Shadaloo stickers to her! We could affix it in a prominent place where it would stand out here in Shadaloo… What? We can’t? I’m sorry. Man, what a pity…

To give our non-Japanese fans a taste of this pachinko game, we’ve included a promotional trailer, so everyone can see what this title was like.

That wraps up another round of profiles, but you can check the profiles of Shadaloo’s Apprentice Dolls, who appear in this game, here.
