Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 Betas Begins This October

Bandai Namco announced via Twitter that the Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 Closed Beta will begin on October 8, and will run until October 10 on the PlayStation 4. Bandai Namco is also hosting an open beta that will be made available on October 14 through the 17 for all PlayStation Network users on the PS4.

Players that participate in the open beta will gain access to a special item, that will be made available in the full version of the game. Those looking to compete during the beta period can enter a special tournament that will be open to all players.

Unfortunately, folks hoping to join a beta on Xbox One or PC will be unable to do so: according to Bandai Namco, this is a Sony-exclusive event. That being said, those players will only have to wait a little while longer to get their hands on the full version of the game.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 releases on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on October 25, with the PC version following shortly after on October 28.

UGC Open Series Goes to Collinsville, Illinois with $15,000 Pot Bonus for Both Super Smash Bros. Melee and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U

The Midwest is typically overlooked when it comes to high-end tournament series. With most events being centered around the East or West coasts of the United States, states like Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, and Missouri truly do earn their name of “flyover states.”

This maxim will not hold true for much longer. Illinois-based UGC Events will be hosting a large scale Super Smash Bros. event in Collinsville, Illinois–just across the Mississippi River from St. Louis, Missouri–on December 2nd through 4th. What sweetens the deal is a massive $40,000 worth of pot bonuses. $15,000 each will go to the singles events of both Super Smash Bros. Melee and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, while $5,000 each will go to the doubles events of both aforementioned games. The tournaments will also be run by experienced tournament organizers in the Smash community, such as MattDotZeb and Bear.

With so much cash up for grabs, we can expect a lot of top players to converge on the midwest this winter.

Hate Your BattleTag? $10 Bucks Changes That

Blizzard has announced that players can now pay to change their BattleTag name, the unique identifier for each player’s account. BattleTag names do not have to be unique as each will be followed by a hashtag and series of numbers to create the one-of-a-kind name. The change does nothing to a friends’ list with others immediately be able to see the new name.
