Web-Based Gateway Closing Due to Botting Activity

Cryptic Studios has announced that the web-based Neverwinter Gateway site is being closed due to “several aggressive botting activities”. The move was necessary due to the number of developer hours being spent combating bot activity that the team felt could be better spent elsewhere.

Wavedash Games Reveals Kidd the Space Goat, Their Interpretation of the Space Animal Archetype

In a recent dev vlog which listed the eight character archetypes that will make up the starting roster of their platform fighter, Wavedash Games have revealed their version of the Space Animal. Named Kidd the Space Goat, this satyr-like bounty hunter is perfect for anyone who has played a platform fighter before and wants to jump in straight away and start doing flashy stuff.

Using his pistol and horns to fight, Kidd is an obvious nod to the legacy of the Space Animal across the platform fighting genre: a laser pistol to obviously reference the blasters used by Fox and Falco, and being a goat is no doubt a reference to Mang0, the GOAT of Super Smash Bros. Melee and noted Space Animal user. Much like Ashani’s initial design, Kidd seems a bit generic–sort of like an extra from Ratchet and Clank, or what would happen if you combine Overwatch’s McCree with the main character of a DreamWorks animated movie. Again, it’s early days and as seen with Ashani’s rework, the Wavedash team are capable of giving characters their own injection of personality, after their initial reveal.

We’ll no doubt see more of Kidd in the coming dev vlogs, as well as some actual in-game footage of this platform fighter in action. With Ashani, Kidd, and the unnamed Sword Fighter scheduled to be ready for the end of this year, eager platform fighter fans don’t have to wait much longer. Don’t sleep on the Kidd.

Pile On the Damage with These Post-Stun V-Trigger Combos for Laura in Street Fighter V

With its visible stun gauge, aiming to stun the opponent arguably plays a much bigger part in Street Fighter V than its immediate predecessors. As such, learning to plan around stun to maximize damage output becomes much more important, as the stun state itself has become much more predictable.

In a recent series of tweets, Javits Arias shared a series of post stun combos for Laura.  While these combos require V-trigger to be active before Laura stuns her opponent, they do deal a massive amount of damage–over half her opponent’s lifebar–allowing her to possibly take a round off them in a match.

In addition to these, Javits also shared a post knockdown anti V-reversals setup that covers both quickrise and backrolls. This is important, as her opponents will want to V-reversal to reduce stun, and having this setup as a threat discourages them from doing so when Laura has full meter.
