Red Bull Battle Grounds Capcom Pro Tour NA Regional Finals Streaming Live from Seattle, Washington

This weekend is Red Bull Battle Grounds, the Capcom Pro Tour North America Regional Finals. The third of four Regional Finals, this is the second to last CPT event for the year before Capcom Cup itself. Like the other Regional Finals, the event starts off with the last chance qualifier to determine the final two players who will join the fourteen who have qualified at the ranking events held through the year.

Qualified Players

It’s not only North America players looking to compete. In addition to John Takeuchi who is already qualified for the Regional Finals, Tokido, Daigo Umehara and Bonchan will be joining in for the last chance qualifier. Of courses a number of US players will be shooting for one of the last chances to get into Capcom Cup, including 801 Strider, RB|Snake Eyez, RN|Alex Myers, brenttiscool, Wolfkrone, iPeru, Circa|LPN, Vagabond and gllty.

Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe Releases Final Details on the UK King of the Iron Fist Qualifier

Ahead of the qualifier next Friday at their UK offices in Hammersmith, Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe have released the final details on the UK leg of the European King of the Iron Fist qualifiers. The major news is that players in this tournament will be using the latest arcade build of Tekken 7: Fated Retribution which means Bob and Master Raven will be playable, and all entrants will have access to the balance changes which will be in effect during the King of the Iron Fist finals in Japan.

The event will be streamed by Nth Gen Interactive and will be hosted on the official Bandai Namco Europe Twitch channel. OG Busby, one of the UK’s premier Tekken commentators, will be joined by the ESL UK’s commentary duo, PND Ketchup and Mustard to run proceedings and commentate all of the Tekken 7 action. The stream will kick off at 11am GMT on November 11th, with top 8 set to beginning at 4pm.

Smash Summit 3 Underway: Initial Player Impressions at the Venue

The Melee community is currently holding one of their biggest annual events, Smash Summit 3, an invitational tournament. With the event currently taking place, the event organizers are sharing a bit of the player reaction to the voting process, as well as details about the atmosphere of the event and top player perception on the current state of the upper echelon of Melee.

We reported on the voting process previously, but here we see the players discussing it themselves. Hearing how the players felt vying for support — and ultimately getting it — is interesting.

Next up, we get a sampling of the atmosphere of the venue. We got a look into what Summit 2 was like earlier this week, and today we get a look at how the current batch of players are acclimating themselves.

Lastly, we have a look at top player opinions on the landscape of the highest level of play for Melee. We hear a bit about what today’s game looks like, and where it’s headed in the near future.
