Waypoint Discusses the Correlation Between Street Fighter and Hip-Hop

Street Fighter has always seemed to have a love affair with hip hop–or perhaps it’s the other way around? Either way, the two seem to flow together perfectly. We have already mentioned many of the tracks that show where the two come together, but rarely do we get a glimpse into why they always live in harmony.

Waypoint has given us an in depth look into the correlation between Street Fighter and hip-hop. While they go over the obvious–such as the hip-hop stylings offered by the Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike soundtrack–they also go further in depth, including a mention of Lupe Fiasco.

Melee Science Breaks Down the Smash Box Controller and its Controversy

Since its unveiling, the Smash Box–the newest controller unveiled by the Hitbox team for playing Super Smash Bros. competitively–has been embroiled in controversy. Not unlike the Hitbox before it, the Smash Box has faced accusations and concerns of giving its users an unfair advantage when compared to the GameCube controller, which has essentially been the only legal controller for the game since competitive play has taken form.

Daniel Lee from Yahoo! Esports has decided to take on its controversy head-on by playing on it and examining the controller in his latest episode of Melee Science. In this episode, he talks about the trade-offs of execution when compared to GameCube controllers, as well as how the ergonomic layout of the Smash Box prevents some of the strain and injury caused by long-term use of the GameCube controller. Moreover, he discusses how the rules regarding modified controllers need to be updated by the Smash Backroom to clearly define what is legal–and what is not.

It’s Sonic Boom City as Yukadon Takes on Esuta’s Guile in Street Fighter V Ranked

Yukadon is continually on the warpath. It seems he has taken Nash’s opening lines of, “If you stand in my way, I will kill you,” to heart, as he is taking on–and mowing down–all comers since his top 4 finish at Capcom Cup.

Next on his list seems to be Esuta. More well known for being one of Japan’s top Street Fighter X Tekken players, Esuta’s Guile is also no slouch in Street Fighter V. But is it enough topple the titan that is Yukadon?
