Get Your Notepads Ready: Here’s a Street Fighter’s Guide to the Guilty Gear Xrd -REVELATOR- Neutral Game
Since the return of Guilty Gear, with 2014’s Xrd, Guilty Gear has been going from strength to strength. For those who started with a Street Fighter game, however, it can be difficult to get into. With so many mechanics and skills to get to grips with, Guilty Gear can feel overwhelming, which is why TheoryFighter has started a series that aims to explain the game from the point of view of a Street Fighter player.
The first full episode kicks off by explaining how to play the neutral game in Guilty Gear, which appears incredibly frenetic but, according to TheoryFighter at least, isn’t as bad as it might seem.
Although this is an excellent, comprehensive explanation of how to understand the neutral, there is a lot of assumed knowledge. It’s not ideal for someone who has no idea how to play neutral, but if you know the basics, there’s a lot to learn here.

Your Eyes Aren’t Playing Tricks on You; Behold Brawlhalla’s Latest Character: Mirage
Brawlhalla is one of those under-the-radar bruisers; with the game still seeing large growth and esports-level-competition and prizes. There’s a lot of money to be won playing Brawlhalla right now, and the game features a lot of unique and interesting mechanics to go along with the Smash-like gameplay. This, in addition to it being free-to-play, makes it particularly stand out in the genre.
The latest character, Mirage, seems to be a great addition to the cast. She looks to have a small range, but with her evasive sand maneuvers she’s able to close the gap fairly quickly. She alternates between a Spear and a Scythe as her main weapons, with the spear seemingly for stronger pokes and the scythe for higher damage and scoops.

SoulCalibur’s Music Transcends the Stage of History in the Orchestral Memories Concert
“The legend will never die” as the–by now–old adage goes. Bandai Namco is keeping the SoulCalibur banner barely afloat, with a distinct lack of new game announcements, but nonetheless celebrating their series–which just passed its 20th anniversary.
Lucky fans in Europe will get an opportunity to attend a live orchestral concert featuring pieces from the series’ soundtrack. The exact track list is shrouded in mystery, but the Orchestral Memories event will play on February 4th in Paris, France. There will also be music from Dark Souls, Tekken, “Tales of” games, God Eater, and more. Special guests include the composers Motoi Sakuraba (Dark Souls, and many other titles) and Go Shiina (Tales of, God Eater).
Check out the promo video below, and here’s where Orchestral Memories tickets can be purchased:
While fans hunger for a SoulCalibur VI announcement, Namco Bandai also published a Project Soul website commemorating the game’s history.
