There’s no secret that the Fighting Game Community has had rivalries throughout the years. The East Coast and West Coast has perennially been rivals, along with various players carrying personal grudges. There has also always been an Asia vs. America rivalry, that has gone on since Daigo Umehara first stepped onto this continent to face Alex Valle.

But since esports has taken over in the FGC, things look more tame to Michael Martin. After the back-and-forth between Smug and EG|K-Brad last week–as well as the subsequent reaction to it–Michael Martin poses the question of whether we need more of this sort of thing in the latest episode of “I Got Next.”

HyperX’s Daigo Umehara is once again a Beast on the prowl. It is obvious that he’s becoming much more aggressive in his play style, which could likely be attributed to an increased level of confidence and understanding of Street Fighter V that he had before. With that, he’s finally starting to look like the Daigo we all know and love.

So when he tests out his Ryu against MOV’s Chun-Li–a Chun that was Top 8 material at both Evo 2016 and the most recent Capcom Cup–how does he fare in a first-to-four?
