Learn to play for more than honor in with this advanced For Honor Valkyrie guide

For Honor is a fairly unique fighting game, one that the FGC hasn’t quite decided what to do with yet. There are many players trying to build up a scene for it, something we heard a bit about from Long Island Joe, while some aren’t quite certain where it can fit in to our current scene. We talked at length about this subject when the game first dropped, and since then only more hype and money has lent itself to the community around it.

For those who play it, adapting to the new style of play can be a bit difficult. To help you along the way, TrueUnderDawgGaming put together this handy guide on using all of the Valkyrie’s tools to their advantage.

Flex your Iron Muscles with this Zangief tech for Street Fighter V

Zangief goes a bit under used in most Street Fighter games, and Street Fighter V is no exception. He’s strong, but there are usually genuinely stronger choices, leaving only those who appreciate hard reads and high damage picking him up.

While that’s his angle, you don’t always have to rely on hard reads. As Brutus, Toronto Zangief player, shows us here, he has some strong Option Select potential. Here we see him setting up against Balrog after EX Spinning Pile Driver, beating most of the wakeup options he has.

He also has a similar type of setup against newcomer Kolin.

Aside from these OS setups, Zangief also has a surprisingly nasty 50/50 mixup in the corner.

There’s also an entry for the #2ComboDeadAkuma challenge, which falls in line with his notorious high damage output.

Show off your veteran status in Rivals of Aether, with these special Early Access colors

With the full release coming up next Tuesday, the Rivals of Aether team are planning to release a set of special colors to commemorate those who have been playing throughout Early Access. These Gameboy-esque colors will be available to anyone who bought and played Rivals of Aether during its Early Access period, marking those veteran platform fighters from the crop of new players.

Along with the colors–which cannot be recreated in the game’s Custom Color mode–Early Access players will also have a colored Steam name to mark them out to fellow players. The actual color choice is a reference to Dan Fornace’s previous retro platform fighter, Super Smash Land. While it was just a fan game back then, certain elements of Super Smash Land–like Vaporeon’s moveset–were integrated into Rivals of Aether.

RoA Retro Colours

There is still some time to get these colors if you’re one for exclusive in-game items, so long as you buy Rivals of Aether on Steam before Tuesday. Those players who bought Rivals of Aether on Xbox’s Game Preview will also get access these retro colors, once the team sort out how to publish DLC for the console.
