Arc System Works releases Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2’s opening movie

Though Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2 doesn’t come out on consoles until late May, the game is scheduled to be hitting Japanese arcades in a few days on March 30th. Though it’s exciting for it to be coming out, for the most part fans in the rest of the world will still just be waiting for it to finally be in their hands.

Something that might tide players over just a little is the opening movie, which was just shown off on Arc System Works’ YouTube channel. It was pretty intense, with a few really cool sections clashing to the beat of the new opening song–which is also amazing. It also showcases Baiken and Answer, the two newcomers in REV 2.

Learn how to optimize Solo characters in Skullgirls 2nd Encore

One thing that many players both in and out of the community think about Skullgirls is that it’s required to play teams in order to compete, or stand a chance against other teams. This thought comes from nearly the entire selection of competitive players in the community choosing to use either Duos or Trios in tournament, and placing highly doing so.

While the fact that teams place very well is undisputed, there are players who reject the notion and have been trying to make Solos work. This tutorial video from SkullgirlsTV seems to be targeted towards those players and others who might be interested in single characters. The Solo option is more than just a damage and health boost, and as the video points out there’s a whole new way the player needs to think about the game in order to be successful. Give it a watch, whether you play Solo, you play against Solos, or even if you’ve just been curious about their viability.

Become an ice-slinging machine with this Triborg tutorial for Mortal Kombat XL

In Mortal Kombat XL, Triborg’s Cyber Sub-Zero variation is vastly different than any form his more fleshy counterpart takes on. With increased mobility and a variety of of up-close and long range attacks, fans of the frozen ninja who are looking to increase the pace of a match may find what they seek in Triborg.

Offical MKX ESL Commentator Ketchup does a great job at covering Triborg’s Cyber Sub’ form in his advanced overview video. The near half-hour long breakdown covers bread and butter combos, practical set-ups, projectile options and more.

At the start of the video, Ketchup notes his hiatus from making Mortal Kombat X tutorials and says it is due to the game’s frequent patch history. With the game feeling solid and Injustice 2 on the horizon, he is confident that the current version of the game is its final installment, and will resume creating tutorial video content. A must attend event in the Summer of Smash, Low Tier City 5 returns August 5th to 6th

One of Texas’ most prestigious events and a staple in the Summer of Smash, Tourney Locator is bringing Low Tier City back for its fifth installment from August 5th to 6th. Featuring the original Super Smash Bros., Super Smash Bros. Melee, Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Project M, the Lone Star state is going all out for this year’s event.

Project M, Smash 4 and Melee are all set to have doubles as well as singles, with a guaranteed $5000 pot bonus to be split across events. Low Tier City 5 will feature as part of 2017’s Championship Circuit for Project M, with the PM community always coming out in their droves to support LTC events. Last year’s event saw 233 entrants for PM, making it the second largest event on the circuit, behind Smash ‘n Splash 2’s 234 attendees.
