Learn to fight Zero in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 with these matchup notes
Zero is generally acknowledged to be the one of the best, if not the best overall point character in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3. Speed, mobility, and damage–the Maverick Hunter just seems to have it all in the game. As such, he can be a hard character to deal with, especially for newer players coming in through the game’s new ports on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
To help players deal with Zero’s shenanigans in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, theram232 is starting a new tutorial series focused on dealing with him. Part one of this series is now out, and focuses on dealing with Zero’s offensive pressure.

The Backstabbing Witch: How to mix-up with Guilty Gear Xrd -REVELATOR-‘s I-No
There’s something iconic about Guilty Gear Xrd -REVELATOR-‘s I-No. The sultry witch with a mean guitar is perhaps the most literal reference to the game’s rock ‘n’ roll themes. Whether it’s her long-ranged notes or Chemical Love, I-No finds a quick way to close in on the opponent and start playing whatever game she wants.
Waffle is here with a helpful video focusing on a specific type of mix-up she has: a corner cross-up. After a knockdown, she can relatively easily get behind the opponent to surprise them. Waffle shows a variety of combos that can lead up to that. As the video goes on, they start to include more advanced I-no tech, such as Faultless Defense Cancelling to cross-up and a fake cross-up with Chemical Love on okizeme.
“The point I was trying to make is that you can get it from many different setups and angles, thanks to how free-flowing Guilty Gear’s combo system is,” Waffle told SRK. “I managed to get the setup from pretty much every I-No tool.”
Waffle posted a couple of helpful notes in the YouTube description: “If you’re lost as to what is happening… In Guilty Gear, you cannot cross people up in the corner. However, if you end your combos with an S dive low enough to the floor, they bounce off and cannot recover in time to tech and move a pixel away from the wall giving you enough space to squeeze in between and get a meaty cross-up.”
If you have any I-No questions, ask them here or in the I-No discord where I or other I-Nos will be more than willing to help.

I have a bunch of tech in a .gif format in a jumbled list atm, if you want to check that out.

There’s YouTube versions of that in a playlist, although it’s missing a few of them.
