The Capcom Pro Tour returns to Birmingham for EGX 2017, running from September 22nd to 24th

Following its success last year, Capcom have decided this year’s EGX will be another European Premier event on the Capcom Pro Tour, providing players from the continent a chance to win an automatic spot at Capcom Cup 2017. Hosted in partnership with Capcom and Unequalled Media, this 512-man event will run over three days, whittling down that initial roster to just eight for a Grand Finale event on Sunday 24th September.

Similar to last year, players will have to purchase a special Capcom Pro Tour EGX ticket in order to attend the event. There are only 512 spots available, so register your interest now to avoid disappointment. Not only will this ticket grant you entry for the tournament, but it will give you access to the EGX show floor for the entire weekend. Tickets cost £35 but based on attending last year’s EGX event, it is worth the money.

With Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite scheduled to come out the Tuesday before the event, expect Capcom to be exhibiting the game and who knows, maybe even holding some mini-tournaments over the weekend.

Learn everything about the smiling cloud Randall with this guide from SSBM Tutorials

Before a certain blonde haired swordsman came onto the scene, everyone’s favorite cloud was the smiling one that appeared on Yoshi’s Story. Named Randall by the Melee community, this smiling cloud has been the savior to many players trying to recover back to the stage. In their latest video and with the help of SoCal player CDK, SSBM Tutorials have made a video which tells players everything they need to know about Randall.

The main thing to know is that Randall’s position on the stage is not random. Randall will appear on either side of Yoshi’s Story based on the in-game timer. If the ten second portion of the timer is even, Randall will be on the left and if it is odd, he will be on the right. You can also tell if Randall is coming out or going into the stage based on the ones digit of the timer. Randall will emerge from the central platform at four seconds, with him then retreat back into the stage at nine seconds. With this knowledge, you should be able to know where Randall is during any match on Yoshi’s Story.

The rest of the video is devoted to how Randall causes some weird interactions with characters dangling off the ledge. You can perform some tricky manoeuvres if you time a smash just as Randall retreats back into the stage, so the whole video is worth a watch.

Plans to add Roger Jr. to Tekken 7 were cancelled for fear of backlash from “animal activists”

In an interview with VG 24/7, Katsuhiro Harada says that plans for adding the genetically engineered kangaroo Roger Jr. to the Tekken 7 roster were been scrapped due to potential backlash from “animal activists”. In the interview, he referred to a viral video in which a man is seen punching a kangaroo after it put his dog in what can easily be described as a “headlock”.

While many have deemed the man a hero for doing what was necessary to save his pet, the man reportedly received serious threats from animal activists for his actions, and Harada seeks to prevent a similar controversy from reaching his game.

“It seems that in the last few years there’s a lot more animal activists – even though they probably wouldn’t play our game they would still hear about that, about a kangaroo in our game being punched, and would complain about it,” he said.

The Tekken developer says fans need not worry about Kuma being removed, since he is “obviously stronger than a human being”.
