“Bizarro number one, not Superman!” New Premiere Skin teased for Injustice 2

Yesterday, the official Injustice 2 Twitter account sent out an interesting Tweet, posting an image of Bizarro, with the quote, “Bizarro number one, not Superman!” For those unaware, Bizarro is an imperfect clone of Superman created by Lex Luthor, who possesses all of the Kryptonian’s powers, but none of his intellect or reasoning skills. Though he served as a major antagonist as a member of The Regime during Year 5 of the Injustice: Gods Among Us prequel comic series, he was thought to have been killed by Doomsday, but it seems he will be officially joining the battlefield as a Premiere Skin for Superman.

Taking the form of alternative Shaders, Premiere Skins serve as alternate costumes that have allowed NetherRealm Studios to place popular characters who may not have warranted separate character slots, due to having similar power sets — such as Mr. Freeze, John Stewart, Reverse-Flash, Power Girl, and Vixen — into the game, with their own sets of unique dialogue and character-specific intros.

We first caught a glimpse of the cloned Kryptonian during the Starfire reveal trailer at San Diego Comic Con, where she was incinerated by flame breath (instead of Kent’s usual ice breath), as well as ice vision in place of heat vision. Though Premiere Skins up to this point have shared the exact same animations and attacks as their original counterparts, perhaps Bizarro will be the first to have unique effects added to Superman’s standard moveset? Though no other information about his release date was given, we can likely expect more information during the upcoming Watchtower livestream for Starfire in the near future. Street Fighter V is coming to the BBC, courtesy of the Gfinity Elite Series

We’ve had Street Fighter on ESPN, and now it’s coming across the pond to the BBC. As part of a deal between the British broadcasting giant and Gfinity, the Gfinity Elite Series will be streamed via the BBC online channel, BBC Three. Broadcast live from the Gfinity Esports Arena in London, viewers will be able to watch players from esports organizations like Method, Infused, EnVyUs, and Endpoint battle it out in CS:GO, Rocket League and most importantly for the FGC, Street Fighter V.

Top European players like Packz, Luffy, imstilldadaddy, and Cobelcog are all present on the Street Fighter side of the tournament, along with some lesser known talent from around the UK. If you want to tune in to the competition, the first BBC stream goes live tonight at 9:00 PM BST/1:00 PM PDT, with commentary provided by top UK commentator Logan Sama.

Hopefully, this will result in a big influx of support for the UK FGC and inspire more FGC-related programming on the BBC. Who knows, we could see Street Fighter or Marvel get its own “Match of the Day” style review program.

Pokemon Go – Chicago ‘Fest’ Attendees Suing Niantic After Weekend Fiasco

Last weekend, Pokemon Go fans gathered in Chicago for the inaugural “Fest” event and were met with a slew of issues making the game unplayable for nearly the entirety of the event. According to the suit’s organizer, Chicago attorney Thomas Zimmerman, many fans would like to have travel costs reimbursed after coming to the event from out of state or even out of the country. So far, plaintiffs number “20 or 30” according to Zimmerman, a number that is likely to grow as news of the suit spreads.
