BigBoysToys premiere “Bulkyz Collection” and tease Violent Ken figure

BigBoysToys teased something big back in February, and this month they revealed that the big announcement is to be a new line of toys, appropriately named the “Bulkyz Collection.” In size and design, the new line is a far cry from their T.N.C (The New Challenger) series, which features several classic Street Fighter characters performing their special attacks with added lights and sounds.

Muscle-clad and standing at 30 centimeters (just under a foot), Ryu is the first to get the Bulkyz treatment. There is a standard figure portraying Ryu in his typical red and white appearance, and a limited “Classic Ryu” toy sporting the white headband and brown gloves variant. Images of both can be seen in the gallery below.

Also teased was an upcoming figure for Violent Ken, Ken Masters’ malicious alter-ego. According to the Facebook post promoting the release, the figure will be a special edition release, and its special effects will include background music. The teaser artwork for Violent Ken can be seen below:

VS_Ino demonstrates the Backdash-Tech option select for Street Fighter V

3rd Strike legend VS_Ino made a great video demonstration recently on a powerful defensive tech in Street Fighter V: the Backdash-Tech option select.

The OS does exactly what it sounds like: with proper timing in meaty situations you can block, backdash, or break throws. Complete with (often times humorous) English subtitles, Ino demonstrates the power of this OS versus meaties, shimmies, and even as setups in minor frame disadvantage situations. The OS is not foolproof, of course: it still loses to meaty lows, and it’s still got all the weaknesses a backdash normally would have.
