Go for the TKO with this Steve Fox combo breakdown for Tekken 7

You’d think a character with no kicks and only two attack buttons would be easy to master, but the opposite is true for Tekken 7‘s Steve Fox, naturally. In lieu of a set of kicks, He’s got a lot of fancy commands for ducks, weaves, and other maneuvers that often must be combined with various attacks to achieve significant damage. Though the effort it takes to combine the footwork with the hand work is well worth it, the intricacies of the inputs can be difficult to keep track of.

Lucky for us, HurtboxTV has put together a combo breakdown video that can help guide you through the technical details that comprise Steve’s smooth moves. For the viewer’s convenience, several hard-hitting combos are performed and then replayed in slow motion, with attack inputs on screen.

For those unfamiliar with Tekken’s attack input notation, here’s a quick guide to help you understand the on-screen data a little better:

U – Up
D – Down
F – Forward
B – Back

1 – Left Punch
2 – Right Punch
3 – Left Kick
4 – Right Kick

Street Fighter V: VesperArcade breaks down Abigail’s specials and V-System ahead of tomorrow’s release

Recently, VesperArcade posted a breakdown of Abigail’s basic normals and Target Combos, based off of the footage of him we’ve seen from the recent Winner Stays On stream. Now, with the eve of his Street Fighter V release upon us, Vesper has made a second video looking at the Mad Gear lieutenant’s specials and Variable System abilities.

First off, Vesper notes that his armored command run, Nitro Charge, can be followed-up with the punch, kick or throw of your choice, as well as his V-Skill. You can also cancel Nitro Charge before Abigail starts running across the screen by holding back for a backwards roll, though this requires a commitment to the action. With a myriad of tools to destroy or bypass projectiles, as well as a variety of command throws, several armored specials, a high and low counter V-Skill, and even the ability to OTG juggle foes with EX Giant Flip — should they fail to quick rise — Abigail could prove quite the opposing challenge for those who face him. His V-Trigger — Max Power — also appears to be very versatile, especially with it only being 2 bars. Catch the video below for Vesper’s full breakdown and thoughts on Mad Gear’s gear-head.

Abigail will be released tomorrow — July 25th — and is naturally included in the Season 2 Character Pass, along with his Battle Costume.

Haggar, Gamora, Spider-Man, Frank West, and Nemesis duke it out: Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite SDCC footage

At the San Diego Comic-Con this past week, a number of characters were revealed for Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite: Frank West, Haggar, Nemesis, and (of course) Spider-Man joined the game’s existing cast.

Now, while the game was playable at the SDCC show floor, and people have been taking photos and videos of it, there’s nothing like actual direct feed footage of the game. That’s exactly what we have here, thanks to Maximilian — who was able to sit down and directly record a number of matches with the newly-revealed characters.

In addition to showing off the newly revealed Frank West, Haggar, Nemesis, and Spider-Man, the footage below also shows some more gameplay of Gamora, who was previously revealed at Evo 2017, along with Jedah.

A good number of the matches here are played by Capcom’s staff, and while it’s not truly optimized, we do see some interesting things — such as loops, tag combos, the properties of Haggar’s new barrel move, and more. Additionally, the direct feed footage also helps showcase how the game’s lighting and shading have improved over past builds.

2GG teams up with Level|Up Series for 2GGC: SCR Saga

In a massive collaboration between two FGC institutions in SoCal, 2GGaming and Level|Up Series are joining forces for 2GGC: SCR Saga. Running from August 19th-20th, this two-day event will be the first Saga to feature games like Street Fighter V, Tekken 7, Injustice 2 and Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2, alongside Super Smash Bros. for Wii U.

With it being the host for both Mega Smash Mondays and Wednesday Night Fights, Esports Arena are adding a $5000 pot bonus to sweeten the deal for anyone hoping to attend SCR Saga. Keeping with the theme of crossing Smash with traditional fighters, SCR Saga will also feature a compendium to bring the world’s best Ryu players to compete at the Esports Arena. Expect players like takera, Chanshu, Venom, Patrino, Locus, and Dunkmaster Ragna on that list of potential World Warriors making the trip to SoCal.
