SDCC Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite trailer gives official look at newly confirmed characters

Returning fighters take on a new threat

Arriving hot on the heels of the announcements made during the Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite panel at San Diego Comic Con 2017, a new trailer was released this morning giving us our first look at the recently-confirmed characters.

Spider-Man, Haggar, Frank West, Nemesis, Gamora, and Thanos show off their current-generation capabilities in this new trailer. While the returning fighters appear very similar at first glance, there are bound to be more surprises in store. This can be indicated by Spider-Man’s new Level 3 Spider-Sense hyper combo, which surely pays tribute to the battles with the Green Goblin(s) in the Sam Raimi Spider-Man films. The trailer can be found below!

The Capcom Unity blog shared additional background information about the new characters for those less familiar with them. The blog also included details on the Mind Stone and how it affects gameplay. It acts as a command grab that stuns the opponent, allowing for new set ups. The Mind Stone’s Infinity Storm automatically regenerates the hyper gauge, allowing for intensely rapid gauge-building.

IGN posted twelve minutes of direct gameplay footage with the recently-announced characters for those wanting to see the fighters in greater context. Watch the new characters duke it out below!

Fighting game personality,Maximilian also uploaded direct gameplay this morning, featuring the new characters. While this footage does not include additional commentary, Maximilian does state that there will be a more in-depth analysis of the characters and their early capabilities in the near future.

It won’t be long until Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite will be out for the masses to enjoy. The title releases on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on September 19, with a season pass and multiple collector’s editions. Wild Terra – You Can Play for Free Through July 24th

If you’ve been on the fence about purchasing Wild Terra, these upcoming days will be right up your alley. From now through July 24th, players can check out the full game on the test server. Players will be able to assist the team with finding errors or other issues but also get a good look at how the game plays and its features.

Abigail Street Fighter VFinal Fight’s Abigail joins the Street Fighter V roster on July 25th

The arrival of this Metro City muscleman leaves Street Fighter fans mixed between confusion and amusement — time will tell if he plays well. It also essentially confirms the remaining leaked characters are a lock, so expect to see Menat and Zeku soon.

Following Trunks’ trailer at Evo, Bandai Namco have announced that veteran Z-Fighters Krillin and Piccolo will be joining the DBFZ roster. Both will be playable in the closed beta for Dragon Ball FighterZ, which feature nine characters in total.

Smash 4 players were shocked when patch 1.1.7 dropped out of nowhere. While many (me included) were hoping for balance changes, the patch just added support for the remaining Smash amiibo. Guess we’ll have to wait for the Switch version for true balance tweaks.

Although they didn’t get the coveted finals day slot, Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2‘s finals were among the highlights of Saturday’s proceedings. Eight great Japanese players waged war on one another, and though my personal favorite, purepure, fell short, Omito was a worthy champion. This is a great interview that shows just how confident he was of winning.

BlazBlue Tag BattleJubei is coming to BlazBlue Central Fiction and ASW announce crossover fighter, BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle

Although the announcement of another tag team fighter in BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle is extremely exciting, the real news here is Jubei. It’s been a long time coming, but I’ll finally have the chance to play my very favorite BlazBlue character, and the hype is real.

Preta: Vendetta Rising – Not Ready for You, Yet

One of the more interesting titles I’ve tried in my short time with the Oculus Rift has been Illion’s Preta: Vendetta Rising. Billing itself as a hybrid between Dark Souls and Monster Hunter, and always online with others, I was intrigued from the start. The intro, though bare bones with a story of amnesia you see coming a mile away, was also encouraging. Then you get into the town hub. And it all falls apart.
