Reddit users put together character-usage charts for Gold to Master Rank in Street Fighter V

For better or worse, the online grind is where most players (even some of the pros) get a majority of their practice time. Multiple users over at r/StreetFighter have gathered character data from the top ranks of Street Fighter V to see which style dominates online.

Here’s the original thread, and the graph created from it by BrassHunky:

and user sentient_petunias put the same data together in a easier to read bar-graph:

Inspired by this, user  by _FIREPOWER_ gathered data from Gold Ranks in this thread, as well:

There’s some obvious trends here that correlate to common complaints about the current character balance:most notably, the drop off of Ryu the further you go up the ranks. Are there any other placements that surprise you in these lists?

BlaQ_NYC offers some help on training good “robotic” elements in your gameplay

Better-trained habits will benefit your overall game.

In playing a game that is as complex and fast-paced as a fighting game, the actions you perform can be categorized into two types: “robotic” actions, and “human” actions. The robotic refers to automatic processes — also called muscle memory — that need to be performed faster than you can typically think about, and are usually learned through repetition to become habit. The human component refers to the thinking elements of play — strategy, approach, and reading or training you opponent.

In the video below, BlaQ_NYC discusses these elements using Street Fighter V as an example, and offers some tips on how to train good “robotic” habits.
