Forget Destiny 2, there’s a new (old?) loot shooter king in town and it’s Tom Clancy’s The Division. It’s been a slow burn and a tumultuous journey for The Division, but Ubisoft seems to have finally been able to realize the game’s potential with the game’s latest (and massive) free update, patch 1.8.

Heroes & Generals – Colmar Hamlet Map Released for Encounter Mode

Reto Moto has pushed out a new video to show off the just-added Heroes & Generals Colmar Hamlet Encounter Mode map. The new location pits two teams of infantry against one another in a fight for control of a small town. Colmar is designed to allow new players to get a better feel for gameplay in Heroes & Generals, though veterans will find challenges as well.

Ascent: Infinite Realm – Bluehole Reveals New Info About Airships

Airships are one of the more interesting features coming in Bluehole’s Ascent: Infinite Realm, or A:IR. Based firmly in Steampunk, A:IR’s ships are a means of transportation as well as a means of destruction for enemies. Moving throughout the floating landmasses takes skill and precision and the enemy is adept at utilizing an unwary traveller’s inexperience to their advantage.

Crowfall – Crafting Changes and the Damned Dirty Word

Crowfall tantalizes us this week with their next major patch a day after they drop the most recent one. Pre-Alpha patch 5.3 went live Tuesday and Wednesday’s Q&A was about patch 5.4. In a move that surprised exactly no one, Crowfall has adopted the industry’s rotten golden goose: microtransaction. Yea, I said it and yea it tasted as bad as it sounds.

Rift – Controversy Surges Over $100 Loot Box

The Rift Reddit has been awash with controversy over Trion’s recently added $100 loot box that can contain a random premium mount. These special boxes, Orphiel’s Mount Crates, are available from now through the end of the month and contain a premium mount that can be traded. There are 42 possible premium mounts inside.
