Dead or Alive 5 Last Round lives on with this Leifang combo video

Whoever said a developer needs to continue to support a title for it to stay alive? All it needs is a group of dedicated fans playing the game and enjoying it, and this is what Dead or Alive 5 Last Round still has, even after Team Ninja announced it was taking a break from the franchise in December.

First, ESL announced a weekly tournament series for the title. Now, we see more combo videos emerging showcasing what can be done within the game’s deep system: in this one, we see Leifang’s options, including set-ups off of her parry, with damaging results coming from stage interactions.

The Capcom vs. SNK 2 side tournament at Evo Japan has surpassed 70 entrants

Capcom vs. SNK 2 is one of the most beloved older titles in Japan, and legend of the game BAS has made sure this game is not outside of the spotlight at the inaugural Evo Japan. His efforts have been rewarded, with 72 players having entered the tournament.

Today, BAS has released a list of the players, which include some of Japan’s best in the game, as well as American players Ricki Ortiz and Justin Wong in the mix. There will also be a stream — with the date, time, and channel to be later divulged.

Dora Bang plays a heated FT10 with a Hibiki player in BlazBlue: Central Fiction

The world’s most famous Bang player in BlazBlue: Central Fiction is back with new content in his channel. As usual, Dora invited a very strong player onto his stream to showcase some high-level Japanese gameplay.

This time, Dora faces Tamai and their Hibiki in a first-to-ten set. While both are sort of “ninja” archetypes, their toolkits are pretty different. Bang is a little more mix-up-oriented with some nail specials to back him up, while Hibiki has strong reset pressure with a Drive that helps him approach. Both players show off really strong pressure; it often takes almost the whole life bar before the other player takes advantage, which is seen in the first matches. After that, though, Dora goes on a dominating streak, warming up to the Hibiki neutral and shutting him down a lot.

It’s a great warm-up to this weekend’s Arc System Works Fighting Game Awards 2017, where Dora is one of the competitors.
