West City Weekly covers team-building strategies, talks open beta for Dragon Ball FighterZ

Everyone knows that the cross-over appeal of the Dragon Ball franchise means that ArcSys’ ambitious new fighter Dragon Ball FighterZ is going to bring in a wave of new players into the FGC. The ebb and flow of new players with a new game is understood: retaining as many as you can to ensure your game’s longevity may be a little less so.

“West City Weekly” has a strategy for this. “West City Weekly” is the brainchild of FGC community leader DaPurpleSharpie and FGC writer Zidiane, and serves as something of an intersectional point for anime fans and fighting game players by combining technical strategies with anime coverage.

This episode features Zidiane’s excellent breakdown of the team building process for new players: and it’s slipped in effortlessly amid Dragon Ball news aimed at a more wide-reaching casual audience. This is exactly the sort of strategic information that can help someone get into the meat of the game, and is important to helping them grow as players.

Brussels Challenge Road To Evo Japan Final Edition results

This past weekend in Brussels, Belgium, the fourth and final Brussels Challenge Road To Evo Japan event was held, with the winner of the Street Fighter V Singles tournament earning a trip to Evo Japan later this month. With additional action in Tekken 7, Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2, The King of Fighters XIV, Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and an SFV 2v2 Team tournament — along with top players in every title from multiple regions –it was guaranteed to be an exciting night of international action.
