Final Fantasy XIV – Sound Director’s Band, The Primals, Set to Release a New Album

If you’re a fan of Final Fantasy XIV, sit up and take note as a new album from the Primals is preparing for release and preorders are now open. Sound Director Masayoshi Soke and his band, The Primals, formed in 2014 and have released tracks from time to time that are themed around FFXIV. The band has performed at Fan Festivals around the world. The new album will be released on May 16th and can be preordered for $32.99.

Negate Field Phase mix-ups with Pokkén Tournament DX’s Homing Cancel and Perfect Block techniques

Now that Pokkén Tournament DX is returning to Wednesday Night Fights, it’s a great time to brush up on some of the highest-level techniques found in tournament play. If there’s one set of defensive techniques that you can nail down to get ahead of the field, it’s the combination of Perfect Block and Homing Cancels.

By combining these two in Field Phase, you can negate the throw/homing mix-up many characters will run once they frame trap you. The homing cancel itself protects you from the throw, and the perfect block technique will often times give you a punish opportunity after your successful block.

Fortnite – Epic Announces Victory Royale That Pits Five Teams of Twenty Against One Another

Epic Games has announced that the next limited time event called Victory Royale. The new Battle Royale game mode pits five teams of twenty hitting the Battle Bus map at the same time. It’s a nice expansion to the more “traditional” 4-player Squad mechanic and, at the same time, slightly smaller than the 50v50 event that players took part in late last year. Victory Royale is expected to launch on Thursday, March 8th

Kritika Online – Pet Trading & Evolution, Arena Enhancements, Class Rebalance Arrive in New Patch

En Masse has announced the deployment of the latest Kritika Online patch that brings a number of big changes to the game. Players will be able to trade pets at Tokina’s Pet Lab in town hubs. Doing so will see them earn Pet Coins that can be traded for pets missing from their collection. Pets can also be taken to the Pet Lab to evolve them to “unlock the full power of the adorable, ferocious and whimsical pets”.

Rift – Prime Server Launches – Time to Go Back to the Future

Is the future of Rift one that takes its players to the past? With today’s launch of Rift Prime, the new limited time subscription-only version of the game as it was at launch, we’ll know soon enough. Prime is a fresh-start server with a subscription-only revenue model that will progress at an accelerated pace and will offer “players an alternative way to experience the game”. In addition, the in-game shop has been greatly reduced to cosmetic goods and services only.
